Accessible outdoor gym equipment

Accessible outdoor gym equipment: our professional selection

Range overview — 46 models, including 46 with displayed prices: €420–€3,875 excl. VAT per machine; brands: TRAINER, Light In Fitness; 38 models designed in Tours and manufactured in Europe (calculated on 2026-10-23).

Accessible outdoor gym equipment is designed so that people with reduced mobility, including wheelchair users, can train in the open air alongside everyone else. The stations are ground anchored, reached without a step or transfer, and operated with simple controls. They are specified by councils, care homes, rehabilitation services, schools and residential developments that want an inclusive fitness area rather than a separate one. Every unit is built for permanent outdoor exposure and frequent use.

Gamme inox : accessibilité à vérifier par référence

L'acier inoxydable 316L est la nuance retenue pour les implantations en bord de mer, en bord de bassin et sur les sites soumis aux embruns ou aux agents chlorés.

What makes a station accessible

Four points define the range. Access: the user reaches the working position in a wheelchair, with no step and no transfer required. Stability: units are anchored to the ground so there is no risk of tipping under off centre load. Controls: resistance selection and seat adjustment use simple, clearly marked mechanisms usable with limited grip strength. Circulation: the layout leaves wide manoeuvring space around each station, which is a site design requirement as much as an equipment one. Materials are selected for weather resistance and for repeated public use, in galvanised steel or 316L stainless steel depending on the environment.

Planning an inclusive fitness area

Accessible stations only work if the approach does. A firm, level and drained surface from the car park or footpath to each station is as important as the apparatus itself.

Design item What to check Why it matters
Approach route Firm, level, drained, no kerb upstand A station is unusable if it cannot be reached
Manoeuvring space Clear turning area at each station Wheelchair users need room to align and leave
Surfacing Bonded rubber or tiles, no loose fill Loose materials block wheels
Station mix Upper body, mobility and coordination A single station does not make a circuit
Signage Pictograms at seated eye level Unsupervised use relies on clear instruction

Standards and compliance

Freely accessible outdoor fitness equipment falls under EN 16630, which sets safety requirements, protection zones and the operator maintenance plan. Accessibility obligations for public sites apply in addition and cover the route, the surfacing and the signage, not only the equipment. Technical sheets, declarations of conformity and test reports are supplied with the offer. Warranty runs from 2 to 5 years depending on the range, with extensions available on steel structures.

Frequently asked questions

Can accessible stations be mixed with standard outdoor gym equipment?

That is the recommended approach. Mixing accessible and standard stations on one circuit produces a shared area rather than a segregated one, and it makes better use of the available footprint. What has to be planned is the continuous accessible route linking the stations that are intended to be reachable by wheelchair.

Are these stations suitable for older users and rehabilitation?

Yes, and residential care homes and rehabilitation services are among the recurring use cases. Seated access, low starting resistance and simple controls suit users recovering mobility or working on upper body strength. Where the site is supervised, station selection can be discussed with the therapy team before the layout is fixed.

How many accessible stations should be installed?

There is no fixed ratio; what matters is that the accessible stations form a usable sequence covering more than one movement, typically three or more. Installing a single accessible unit in a large area rarely delivers a real service. We size this on the layout drawing from your available area and expected use.

Send us the site plan, the approach route and the user profile, and we will return an inclusive station list with a layout drawing. Request a quotation for a reply within 24 working hours.
