Description
The TRAINER D02R+SI is an outdoor upper body lifter station with a folding seat that clears the frame for a wheelchair. It loads the pulling side of the shoulder complex, working the deltoids, the upper back, the scapular girdle and the pectorals through a guided overhead path. Standing 202 cm high on a 113.5 x 74 cm base and weighing 77 kg, it is the pulling counterpart to the D01R+SI chest press in the same inclusive family.

The pulling half of an inclusive circuit
Wheelchair users spend the day pushing. Rims, transfers, doors: the anterior shoulder and chest are constantly loaded, while the muscles that retract the shoulder blades are not. A public fitness area that only offers pushing stations therefore reinforces the imbalance it should be correcting. The D02R+SI addresses the other side of that equation, which is why the two inclusive stations are normally specified as a pair rather than individually.
- Overhead lifting path for shoulders, upper back and chest
- Folding HDPE seat, operated by the user without assistance
- 202 cm overall height on a compact 113.5 x 74 cm base
- Body weight resistance, nothing to select or adjust
- 150 kg maximum user weight, moderate difficulty rating
Siting and long term upkeep
Reserve the 414 x 374 cm safety area and surface it continuously, with a firm level approach on the seat side so a chair can be positioned square to the handles. Where the station is installed next to the D01R+SI, allow enough spacing that two chairs can manoeuvre without one blocking the other; a shared surfacing apron across both units is usually the cleanest solution.
Construction is the standard TRAINER build: shot blasted, hot dip galvanised steel under a two coat polyester finish, with HDPE panels for the seat that will not splinter, absorb water or need repainting. Inspect the folding seat pivot, the handle bushings and the ground anchors during routine checks, and keep the annual main inspection recorded in the site log.
Frequently asked questions
How does it differ from the D01R+SI?
The D01R+SI pushes horizontally and loads the chest and front shoulder. The D02R+SI works overhead and loads the shoulders, upper back and scapular girdle. They are complementary, and a circuit that includes both gives balanced upper body work.
Does a wheelchair user need help to fold the seat?
No. The mechanism is designed for autonomous operation, which is the essential difference between genuinely inclusive equipment and equipment that requires an attendant to be present.
Why is it heavier than the chest press?
At 77 kg against 70 kg the lifter carries a taller frame and a different lever assembly for the overhead path. The extra mass affects handling during installation only, not use.
