Bodytone Olympic plates and bumpers

Bodytone Olympic plates and bumpers : notre sélection professionnelle

Bodytone Olympic plates and bumpers are supplied for strength training and weightlifting in professional facilities: calibrated plates for Olympic barbells and shock absorbing bumpers for movements where the bar is dropped. Light In Fitness advises gym and box managers on how to compose plate sets according to attendance and to the movements programmed, because set composition is what determines whether a strength floor works at peak time.

Cast iron plates or bumpers

Cast iron plates are compact and cost less per kilogram, but must not be dropped. Bumpers are rubber, share the same outside diameter across weights and are designed to be dropped from overhead onto suitable flooring. Loaded machines, benches and racks take cast iron; platforms, CrossFit and Hyrox areas take bumpers. Both use the standard Olympic bore, so plates move freely between bars and machines.

Composing a set and storing it

Size the set so two users can load a working set on the heaviest stations at the same time, plus a shared reserve on plate trees. Include small and fractional plates so users can progress in steps smaller than 5 kg per side. Plate trees belong next to every loading point, since plates left on the floor are the main cause of frame damage and obstruction. Under loading zones, rubber gym flooring tiles protect the slab. Frequently asked questions

Can bumpers be mixed with cast iron on the same bar?

It is possible but it removes the benefit, because a bar carrying cast iron cannot be dropped safely. If the movement involves dropping, load bumpers only. Keeping the two families in separate zones is the simplest way to avoid the mistake.

How much plate stock does a box need?

Class based programming needs enough plates for every participant to load their working weight simultaneously, which is a larger stock than a conventional gym floor requires. Under stocking leads to bars being stripped mid session. Send us your class size and typical loading and we will size the set.
