Choosing a height
Height is the deciding variable. It sets the free height of fall, and therefore the impact attenuating surface required to EN 1177, and it also sets the diameter of the safety zone, since the stays spread outwards from the mast. A 2.4 m pyramid can be placed on a modest school yard; a 3.6 m model needs a genuine park footprint and a surfacing budget to match. Sixteen models are listed, which gives a workable step between those two extremes.
Construction and standards
Armoured rope over a steel core keeps the stays under tension in free public access, and the connectors are designed for outdoor service. The models answer EN 1176. Each pyramid has its own free height of fall, and the corresponding surface and safety zone are shown on the layout plan issued with the quotation. Installation is carried out in France.
