Description
HYPERION is the pyramid to specify when a committee wants the visual presence of a 4 m structure and the reassurance of a 1.0 m free height of fall. Two horizontal net levels at 1.0 m and 2.5 m break the climb into stages, and the approval runs from three years.
Progressive stages
- Central hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 139.7 mm diameter, 4 m high
- Six main bearing cables anchored to the ground
- Six net panels between the bearing cables
- Two horizontal net levels at 1.0 m and 2.5 m
- Hot-dip galvanised anchor plates and bolts
Staged nets change how children use a pyramid. Rather than one continuous ascent, they get an achievable first target, a place to rest, and a second objective. That structure is what allows a wide age band to share the same equipment without the youngest being pushed out.

Foundations and buried services
Six ground anchors and one central foundation are cast at 0.7 m depth. Confirm the position of drainage, irrigation and lighting cables before setting out, because relocating a single anchor changes the geometry of the whole net and is not something that can be improvised on site.
Frequently asked questions
How can a 4 m pyramid keep a 1.0 m fall height?
Free height of fall is measured from the highest accessible standing or sitting surface, and it is limited by the surrounding net, which catches a user rather than letting them fall clear. With net levels at 1.0 and 2.5 m enclosed by the six net panels, the figure stays at 1.0 m.
Does that reduce the surfacing cost?
Substantially. Surfacing is specified against the 1.0 m fall height across the 9.6 m circle, a much shallower build-up than a 2.5 m fall height over the same area would demand.
Is HYPERION a good choice for a mixed-age park?
It is one of the strongest in the range for that brief, because the staged levels and the low fall height suit three-year-olds while the 4 m silhouette and the upper net keep older children interested.
