Stainless steel outdoor strength machines
Stainless steel outdoor strength machines : notre sélection professionnelle
These machines take the principle of the Olympic plate loaded gym machine and transpose it outdoors in 316L stainless steel. Unlike the body weight apparatus that equips most public fitness areas, they allow work with real, progressive load in the open air, with no shelter and no regular servicing. They are specified by councils that want to offer more than a pull up bar, by upmarket campsites and hotels, by military bases, residential developments and rehabilitation centres: anywhere the equipment stays outside all year and maintenance has to remain marginal.
What the range covers
Flat and incline bench press, leg press, shoulder press, leg extension, front and rear lat pulldown, triceps pushdown, abdominal, biceps and triceps benches, multi bar and deadlift stations. Loads are added as standard Olympic plates, so there is no proprietary weight system to source and existing plate stock stays usable. Every unit is built in 316L stainless steel throughout, including fixings and contact surfaces, and is designed for freely accessible public use.
Why 316L rather than galvanised steel
Galvanised steel covers the majority of installations and remains the rational choice inland. 316L becomes necessary in saline atmospheres, in permanently humid conditions, and wherever the appearance has to stay intact over time: it contains molybdenum, which gives it resistance to chloride corrosion that 304 grade stainless does not have. On a coastline, that is the difference between an area that holds and one that is pitted with rust by its second winter.
| Site | Material | Expected maintenance |
|---|---|---|
| Inland park or school | Coated galvanised steel | Coating inspection and touch up |
| Seafront or estuary | Stainless steel 316L | Rinse with clean water, check fixings |
| Poolside or spa surrounds | Stainless steel 316L | Cleaning, no coating repair |
| Military base, intensive use | Stainless steel 316L | Fixing checks, plate storage upkeep |
Standards and public procurement
Freely accessible outdoor fitness equipment falls under EN 16630, which defines safety requirements, the protection zones around each station and the maintenance plan the operator has to run. Technical sheets, declarations of conformity and test reports are supplied with the offer so a tender file is complete from the outset. ASTM F3101 certification is available as an option on part of the range. Warranty runs from 2 to 5 years depending on the range, with extensions available on steel structures.
Installation, plate storage and delivery
Machines are anchored in concrete footings sized to the model and the ground conditions. Because the load is applied with plates, the project has to include secure outdoor plate storage close to the machines, otherwise plates end up on the ground or disappear. Standard delivery covers France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg; export is priced project by project. Stocked references ship in 5 to 10 working days.
Frequently asked questions
How are the plates managed on a public site?
Two approaches are used. On supervised sites such as campsites, hotels, military bases and clubs, plates are stored on racks and put away after use. On unsupervised municipal sites, plates are often fixed to the machine in a defined range so the equipment stays usable without loose parts. We settle this at design stage because it changes the specification.
Is surfacing required under these machines?
These are seated and standing stations at ground level rather than raised apparatus, so a stabilised or hard surface is usually enough. A rubber surface is still worth specifying under the loading zones to protect the base and to keep the area usable in wet weather. Drainage of the sub base matters more than the thickness of the covering.
Can these machines be used by beginners?
The movement path is guided, which makes the stations usable without coaching, and instruction panels are available for the range. The limiting factor is the plate increment: the smallest step is the lightest plate on site, so stocking small plates widens the usable public. On municipal sites we generally recommend mixing these stations with body weight apparatus.
Tell us the site location, the distance from the sea and how the plates will be managed, and we will return a specification with a layout drawing. Request a quotation for a reply within 24 working hours.
