Description
These weighted fitness bars carry fixed loads from 5 to 100 kg and are physically secured to their support, so the weights stay on site permanently. Each bar is attached to its rack, which removes the single reason free weights are almost never installed in public space: theft and dispersal of the equipment.
The range spans introductory work at 5 kg through to heavy lifting at 100 kg, so one installation covers a whole population rather than a single ability level. Because the bars are fixed weights rather than loadable, there is no plate to lose, no collar to fail and no adjustment for a user to get wrong, which is exactly what unsupervised free access demands. A user selects the bar that matches the movement and the effort, in the same way as a fixed dumbbell rack in a commercial gym.
Construction is stainless steel 316L, the marine reference grade for outdoor use. Its molybdenum content gives corrosion resistance well beyond common 304, particularly by the sea, around chlorinated pool environments and in salt laden air, which is why it is the durable choice for coastal authorities, seafront hotels and any installation permanently exposed to the weather. Maintenance is limited to cleaning and a periodic check of the attachment points.

Free weights in unsupervised public areas
Councils, barracks and campuses have wanted free weights in outdoor training areas for years and have consistently been blocked by the same operational problem: loose equipment disappears within weeks, and what remains gets scattered across the site and becomes a hazard. Securing each bar to its support solves both at once, and it turns the area into an inventory proof installation that a facilities team can sign off. Military bases in particular specify this format because the equipment is available around the clock without a store issue procedure. The installation falls under EN 16630 in free access sites, with a clear safety zone of at least 1.50 m and impact absorbing surfacing to EN 1177 where the free height of fall requires it, and dropped bar zones should be surfaced accordingly. Light In Fitness includes a free implantation study, delivery throughout France and installation by our own teams.
Frequently asked questions
Which weights should we install?
The range runs from 5 to 100 kg. We advise on the spread of weights against the expected user population in the free implantation study.
Can the bars be removed by users?
No. Each bar is secured to its support and stays in place. The attachment points are checked during routine periodic inspection.
Why 316L rather than 304 stainless steel?
316L contains molybdenum, giving higher corrosion resistance in salt air and chlorinated environments, which is decisive for coastal and poolside installations.
