TRAINER wheelchair accessible outdoor fitness stations

TRAINER wheelchair accessible outdoor fitness stations : notre sélection professionnelle

The TRAINER accessible range is designed to be used directly from a wheelchair, without transfer. It covers shoulder wheels, chest press and reverse fly units, and puller and pusher stations, listed from 1,188 to 2,406 euros excluding VAT. These are the units that turn an ordinary fitness trail into genuinely inclusive equipment, a criterion that appears more and more often in public procurement.

What makes a station usable from a wheelchair

Three things, and none of them is the machine alone. The handles have to be reachable at seated height; the approach has to be free of a base plate or step that would block the footrests; and the surrounding surface has to allow a wheelchair to arrive, turn and leave. Equipment that meets the first two points still fails in service if the third is ignored, which is why the layout plan issued with the quotation includes the approach routes and the manoeuvring areas, not just the station positions.

Standard and specification

These units fall under EN 16630 for permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment in free public access. Loading is by body weight or by the user own effort, with no weights to handle. Installation is carried out in France, and the same layout can combine accessible stations with standard TRAINER units so that all visitors share one area.

Requirement What is checked
Reach Handles positioned for a seated user
Approach No base plate obstructing footrests
Surface Firm, level surfacing up to and around the station
Manoeuvring area Space to turn and leave, shown on the plan
Standard EN 16630

Frequently asked questions

Can accessible and standard stations be mixed on one trail?

Yes, and that is the usual specification. Mixing them keeps one shared area rather than a separate zone.

Does the surfacing have to change?

The approach surfaces have to be firm and level. The requirement is set out on the layout plan with the quotation.

Is this equipment suitable for rehabilitation settings?

It is designed for free public access outdoor use. Clinical protocols remain the responsibility of the operator.
