Description
The TRAINER D07R+WS is a pylon-mounted outdoor reverse fly station for wheelchair users, fitted with a folding seat so it serves both seated and standing users. It measures 192 x 70 x 202 cm, weighs 45 kg plus a 50 kg pylon and requires a safety zone of 378 x 370 cm. Light In Fitness supplies it at 1,716 EUR excluding VAT.
The folding seat is the design point
Fixed seats are what usually exclude wheelchair users from an outdoor gym. On the D07R+WS the seat folds up against the frame, opening the working position so a chair can be rolled straight in and braked. Folded down, the same station is a conventional reverse fly for standing visitors. One footprint, one foundation, two user groups, and no separate accessible area to justify to a planning committee.
Muscles worked
The movement is horizontal abduction: the arms open outwards against the levers, loading the posterior deltoids, the rhomboids, the middle trapezius and the scapular retractors. This is the antagonist of the pressing pattern, and it matters more for wheelchair users than for the general public because daily propulsion heavily favours the front of the shoulder. Regular reverse fly work restores some balance across the joint.
- Folding seat mechanism for independent wheelchair access
- Targets the rear deltoids, rhomboids and mid-back
- Narrow 70 cm width, so it fits tight circuits and path-side installations
- Difficulty rated medium
Construction and finish
High-grade steel, shot-blasted and hot-dip galvanised, then double-coated in weather-resistant polyester powder. The range is galvanised steel throughout, which is the appropriate corrosion protection for permanent unsupervised outdoor installation. Standard colours are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006); other RAL references are quoted on request.

Frequently asked questions
How does the D07R+WS differ from the D06R+WS chest press?
They are a matched pair working opposite directions. The D06R+WS presses forward and loads the chest and front of the shoulder; the D07R+WS opens outwards and loads the rear deltoids and mid-back. The D07R+WS also has a folding seat, whereas the chest press has no seat at all. Installing both gives a balanced upper-body circuit.
Does the folding seat need to be locked?
The mechanism holds in both positions without a tool and without a key, so a user can change it unaided. That is deliberate: an accessible station that needs staff intervention is not accessible in practice.
What inspection regime applies?
EN 16630 expects routine visual checks, an operational inspection every one to three months and an annual main inspection. On this station the hinge of the folding seat is the item to check first, along with anchor bolts and coating condition.
