Two exercises without leaving the chair
The station is designed to be used from a seated position, with no transfer required. That is what makes it work for wheelchair users: they arrive, they train, they leave, using the same apparatus as everybody else on the area and without needing help from a companion.
Combining two movements on one frame also means an accessible user gets a genuine session rather than a single token station. The pull down and the arm crank complement each other, one pulling and one rotating, and together they cover most of what an upper body workout needs.
What each half trains
The seated pull down tones the arm and chest muscles while recruiting the abdominal and back muscles to hold the trunk against the pull. The arm pedals strengthen the forearms and shoulders and improve the condition of the wrists and elbows, which matters a great deal for anyone who propels a manual wheelchair every day.

Materials and finish
High quality steel structure, shot blasted then galvanised, with a double layer of polyester paint for lasting weather resistance. Seats and contact points are in high density HDPE panels, comfortable and easy to clean. Colours: yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) or lime (RAL 6018/9006), other shades on request. Galvanised and painted carbon steel, not stainless steel.

What does an accessible area need besides the equipment?
An approach. A firm, level, non slip path wide enough for a wheelchair to reach the station and turn around it is as important as the apparatus itself, and it is the point most often missed at design stage. We include it in the layout study.
Can standing users use it too?
Yes. It is a seated station, not a reserved one, and it is used by anyone who wants an upper body workout. Inclusive areas work best when nothing is signed as being for one group only.
Which stations pair with it?
Two or three accessible stations make a circuit rather than a gesture. A rotating upper body wheel and a second seated station are the usual companions. Tell us the surface you have and we will propose a combination.
