A sprung floor is a building decision; an air track is equipment. It is inflated for the session and rolled away afterwards, which lets a multi purpose hall run gymnastics on Tuesday and something else on Wednesday. Choosing length, width and pressure
Length follows the skills being trained, since a run of tumbling passes needs more than a single element. Width follows how many athletes work at once and the confidence of the group. Pressure is the variable that changes the feel: higher pressure gives a firmer, faster surface, lower pressure gives more absorption for learning. Storage and inflation time should also be checked, because a track that takes too long to set up stops being used.
