Description

The Air Tumbling track measuring 12 m x 2 m x 30 cm is a compressed air acrobatic runway with the thicker 30 cm section, giving a softer landing and a higher rebound than a 20 cm track. Thickness is the specification that matters most on an air track: at 30 cm the surface absorbs more of the landing before it returns energy, which suits clubs teaching new skills, athletes rehearsing high rotations, and any group where landings are not yet consistent. The 12 m length covers a full tumbling pass in most sports halls.

Tumbling, from the English verb to tumble, is an exclusively acrobatic discipline performed on a dynamic runway on which athletes link eight consecutive skills without interruption or loss of rhythm, with only hand and foot contact permitted. The same track now serves martial arts, tricking, parkour, gymnastics and breakdance, all disciplines that need a dynamic floor for high volume skill repetition.

Choosing thickness and length for your hall

A 30 cm track sits higher off the floor than the 20 cm version, which changes two things. It is more forgiving on landings, so it is the usual choice for teaching groups and for disciplines where athletes land from height, but it also raises the take off surface, so the transition on and off the track needs thinking about, particularly for younger users. Some clubs pair a 30 cm runway with a 20 cm strip for approach work.

For length, allow the 12 m of track plus a landing and deceleration area at the end, so around 16 m of usable hall length. The floor under the track must be flat, clean and free of grit. Because the track holds pressure for more than a week, most clubs inflate at the start of a training block and leave it in place, which removes both the noise of a running blower and the cable across the floor. Inflation pressure can be tuned to the group: softer for beginners, firmer for experienced tumblers who need a faster rebound.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose 20 cm or 30 cm?

30 cm gives a softer landing and a higher rebound, which suits teaching and high rotation work. 20 cm sits closer to the floor and gives a firmer, more competition like feel. Tell us the disciplines and the age groups and we will advise.

Does it stay inflated between sessions?

Yes, for more than a week. The blower is used to inflate and to top up between training blocks rather than continuously.

How is it stored?

Deflated and rolled. The track is easy to handle and can be transported between sites, which is what makes it practical for clubs sharing a hall or running outreach sessions.
