Numbered artificial turf tracks for CrossFit and Hyrox
Numbered artificial turf tracks for CrossFit and Hyrox : notre sélection professionnelle
Numbered artificial turf tracks are the working surface of a functional training zone, marked so athletes can measure distance without a tape. Twelve references are listed, made from high density polyethylene fibres and specified for gyms, functional studios, training boxes and indoor or outdoor conditioning areas. They are built to take sled pulls, sprints and the heavy repetitive loading typical of Hyrox and cross training sessions.
Why a marked track changes how the zone is used
Sled work, sprints and carries are measured in metres. Without markings, a coach either lays out cones before every class or accepts approximate distances, and members cannot compare one session to the next. Printed distance numbering removes both problems: the track becomes the measuring instrument, class turnaround gets faster, and results are comparable week to week. That is the practical reason these tracks are now standard in Hyrox oriented facilities.
Specification and installation
High density polyethylene fibre is chosen for abrasion resistance under sled runners rather than for appearance. Under the turf, an underlay is normally required to absorb impact and protect the substrate, and the width should be set from the number of lanes you intend to run simultaneously, not from the space left over after the equipment is placed. Delivery covers France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg.
| Specification point | What to decide |
|---|---|
| Length | Distances used in your programming, marked on the turf |
| Width | Number of lanes running at the same time |
| Fibre | High density polyethylene, abrasion resistant |
| Underlay | Impact absorption and substrate protection |
| Use | Sled pulls and pushes, sprints, carries |
Frequently asked questions
Can the track be installed outdoors?
Yes, subject to the substrate and drainage on site, which we check before quoting.
Does turf need an underlay?
In most functional training installations it does, both for impact and to protect the floor beneath.
How is the length chosen?
From the distances your sessions use. Tell us the programming and the available run and we size the track with the quotation.
