Two lanes, a graduation you can read from the back of the room and a marked start zone: this one is built for the event. The H2 Competition turf track lets you run head-to-head heats that are legible for the competitors and for the audience, without setting out any additional marking equipment.

Two lanes side by side

The surface carries two lanes, so two athletes race the same distance on the same substrate at the same moment. Nothing has to be measured, aligned or taped down before a heat: the lanes are part of the turf and stay exactly where they were the last time you used them.

Reinforced graduation and a marked start zone

The graduation is drawn heavier than on a training lane so that it stays readable from a distance, which is what a judge at the finish and a crowd behind the barrier actually need. The start zone is materialised on the surface, so every heat begins from the same line without a chalk mark or a strip of tape.

Which facilities is it for?

Internal competitions and throwdowns: two athletes, one start line. Head-to-head heats need a fair start and a visible finish. Two permanent lanes and a marked start zone give both, and remove the twenty minutes of setting out that a competition day normally costs.

Event organisers: a floor that reads from the spectator side. The reinforced graduation is drawn to be seen from a distance, so the audience follows the race and the video coverage shows a clean, branded competition area rather than a scatter of cones.

Boxes that host qualifiers: the same lane every year. Because the marking is manufactured into the surface, the competition area is identical from one edition to the next and results stay comparable between seasons.

Everyday conditioning between events. Outside competition days, the two lanes work as a permanent sled and carry lane for classes, which keeps a specialised surface earning its floor space all year.

What to know before ordering

The price is per square metre, not per linear metre. A lane of 15 m by 2 m is 30 m2. A two-lane competition area covers more ground than a single training lane, so work out the real area before comparing quotations.

The marking is manufactured in, not added afterwards. The lanes, the graduation and the start zone are part of the surface: they do not wear off, but they cannot be changed after delivery. The marking plan and the distances have to be confirmed before production starts.

Turf does not take prolonged static loads. The fibres compress under the feet of racks, selectorised machines or any equipment left standing. Keep the competition area free of fixed equipment and plan rubber tiles for machine areas and drop zones.

Fibre composition, backing, weight per m2 and fire classification are not published. Those figures drive delivery logistics and compliance in buildings open to the public, which matters more than usual when you are hosting an audience. Ask us for the full technical data sheet before committing to an event project that has to pass a safety inspection.

The substrate is prepared before installation, not after. It must be stable, clean, dry and level enough. Existing irregularities are corrected before laying: they remain perceptible under the turf and concentrate where the sled runs. Rolling the turf out over the substrate before final fixing shows up the defects to correct.

What we do not claim. This track is designed for sled lanes, but no HYROX approval and no equivalence of behaviour with the official competition turf is claimed: no certified comparative test has been carried out. Nor do we publish a guaranteed service life for intensive commercial use, because it depends on frequency of use, loads, sled type, maintenance and installation quality.

Frequently asked questions

Is the track delivered in one piece?

Packaging depends on the dimensions ordered: beyond a certain length the track is supplied in several widths to be joined on site. Send us your dimensions and we will confirm the exact make-up of your configuration.

Can it be rolled up and stored between events?

For intensive sled use the track is fixed with double-sided tape over the full surface or fully bonded, on a hard, flat, clean and dry floor: concrete, tiles or existing rubber tiles all work, provided the substrate is level. Talk to us about the length you are planning before you count on handling it as temporary event equipment.

Which width should I choose?

Lanes one metre wide carry a supplement of 14.00 EUR excluding VAT per m2. For a two-lane competition area, a generous total width is what keeps the two athletes clear of each other. State the width you want when you request a quotation.

Can it be laid over existing rubber tiles?

Yes. Installation is on a hard, flat floor: concrete, tiling or rubber tiles. Flatness of the substrate is the critical point, since any irregularity shows through the turf and is felt underfoot when running.

What daily maintenance does it need?

Regular vacuuming to remove dust and debris, periodic brushing to lift the fibres, and washing with water and a neutral detergent. Avoid solvents and pressure washers on the marked areas.

Can we have a lane with no seam across the full width?

Standard production width is 2 m, to keep handling and transport manageable: beyond that, widths are joined on site. A special width of up to 2.82 m in a single piece can be produced, at an extra cost quoted with the offer. Tell us the lane width you are aiming for and we will confirm what is feasible on your project.

Is this track HYROX approved?

No. It is used for sled training, including HYROX preparation, but no approval and no certified equivalence with the official competition turf is claimed, as no comparative test has been carried out. We prefer to say so before the order rather than let an equivalence be assumed.
