Professional racks and power cages

Professional racks and power cages : notre sélection professionnelle

Racks and cages are the structural core of a strength area: they allow squat, bench press, overhead press and rowing to be performed safely, including without a training partner. This range covers squat racks, power racks, half racks and multifunction racks for commercial gyms, CrossFit boxes, hotels, military sites and serious home gyms. Frames use 60 x 60 mm or 80 x 80 mm high strength steel tube and carry loads of 500 kg and above depending on the model.

The four formats and what they are for

Squat racks are open structures with adjustable bar supports and integrated safety catches, used for squat, bench press and Olympic movements where the lifter wants to enter and exit freely. Power racks are enclosed cages with safety bars on both sides, which is the format for unsupervised training because a failed lift is caught by the structure. Half racks are the compact answer, combining a squat rack with a pull up station in a reduced footprint. Multifunction racks add a high pulley, a low pulley and accessory stations so a single unit covers strength and cable work in a small room.

Format Footprint Unsupervised use Typical setting

Power rack Full cage footprint Yes, safety bars catch the bar Commercial gyms, hotels, home gyms
Half rack Reduced, wall friendly Partial, depends on the model Small clubs, compact strength corners
Multifunction rack Compact for the functions covered Yes, on the guided stations Hotels, studios, single room facilities

Construction and accessories

Steel section is the first indicator of duty rating: 60 x 60 mm covers most club installations, 80 x 80 mm is used on structural and rig grade frames. Check the hole pitch on the uprights, since a finer pitch gives more useful J cup and safety bar positions. Most models are compatible with accessories that extend their use: dip handles, landmine attachments, pulley conversions, plate storage horns, band pegs and barbell holders. Ordering plate storage with the rack keeps plates off the floor, which is the main cause of frame damage and blocked circulation.

Installation, standards and warranty

Anchoring to the slab is required for pull up and any dynamic hanging work, and the slab has to be able to take the fixings. Rubber gym flooring tiles are normally cut around the uprights so the frame sits on the slab. Indoor equipment falls under EN 957, published as EN ISO 20957. Warranty runs from 2 to 5 years depending on the range, with extensions available on steel structures. Stocked references ship in 5 to 10 working days.

Frequently asked questions

Power rack or squat rack for a commercial gym?

If members train without supervision, the power rack is the safer specification because safety bars catch a failed lift on both sides. A squat rack suits floors where coaches are present or where the space cannot take a full cage. Many clubs install both, with the cage in the unsupervised area.

What ceiling height is required?

Allow the rack height plus clear space for a user to pull up on the top bar without contact, and check the lowest obstacle in the room rather than the ceiling slab. Ducts, lighting and sprinkler heads usually set the real limit. Send us the height under the lowest obstacle with your enquiry.

What load can these frames take?

Commercial models in this range carry 500 kg and above depending on the frame and the bar support design, which exceeds what almost any user will load. The practical limit is more often the anchoring and the slab than the steel. The rated figure per model appears on each product sheet.

Tell us the room dimensions, the ceiling height and whether training is supervised, and we will return a rack specification with prices. Request a quotation for a reply within 24 working hours.
