Description
The Bodytone FR11 stores nine vinyl dumbbells in vertical channels on a 54 x 102 cm footprint, with a 300 kg load rating and a rack weight of 53 kg. Channel storage rather than open cradles is what makes it work for group exercise: participants take and return weights without having to match a specific slot, and the rack still looks tidy at the end of the class.
Designed around how a class actually runs
The five minutes before a group session and the two minutes after it are when equipment gets damaged and floors get scratched. A channel rack shortens both. Weights come out and go back vertically, in order of size, and the rack occupies less than 0.6 m2 of studio floor.

Two tube sections, one reason
The frame mixes 100 x 50 mm tube at 1.5 mm wall with 50 x 50 mm tube at 3 mm. That is not a cost compromise: the wide thin-wall section forms the channel body, where stiffness comes from the profile, and the narrow thick-wall section carries the load path, where stiffness comes from the material. The result is a 53 kg rack that holds 300 kg without a heavy base plate.
Vinyl coated dumbbells are chosen for toning classes and rehabilitation work because they are soft-edged, colour coded by weight and comfortable in the hand. They are also the weights most likely to be handled by users with no lifting experience, which is why the storage matters: a vinyl dumbbell left on a studio floor is the classic trip hazard of a group exercise room.
Specify the rack and the weight set together so the channel count matches the ladder. See the racks and cages range and the Bodytone functional accessories that stock a class studio.
Frequently asked questions
Is 9 units the same as 9 pairs?
No. The FR11 holds nine individual dumbbells, which in practice is four pairs plus a spare or a partial ladder. For a class where every participant needs a pair, size the storage on units and not on pairs.
Can it hold neoprene or cast dumbbells instead of vinyl?
The channels are dimensioned for vinyl coated dumbbells. Similar profiles usually fit, but head diameter varies by manufacturer, so send us the model you own and we will confirm before quoting.
Does it move easily between studios?
It is not a wheeled rack: at 53 kg empty it is designed to stay in place with non-slip bases holding position on a sprung or rubber studio floor. Where equipment has to move between rooms, we specify a mobile storage solution instead.
Tell us the dumbbell ladder your classes run and the studio dimensions, and we will return a storage layout with racks and weights costed together. Quotations are issued within 24 to 72 hours.
