Multi station gyms and cable stations
Multi station gyms and cable stations : notre sélection professionnelle
A multi station gym concentrates several training positions on one frame, which is the most efficient way to cover a full body programme when floor area is the limiting factor. The selection here runs from a two-position cable station used in rehabilitation work through to four-position club machines, a Smith trainer with functional attachments and a combined squat rack and cage.
Choosing by number of positions
| Type | Simultaneous users | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Cable station | 1 to 2 | Rehabilitation rooms, physiotherapy, small studios |
| Multi station, four positions | Up to 4 | Hotels, corporate gyms, residential facilities |
| Smith trainer with attachments | 1 to 2 | Guided barbell work with cable accessories |
| Squat rack and cage | 1 to 2 | Free weight training with pull-up station |
What determines real capacity
The number of positions on the specification sheet only translates into capacity if the movements do not interfere with each other. A four-position machine serves four members simultaneously when the layout separates the pulling and pressing arcs; where positions face each other, effective use drops to two. Layout matters as much as the count, and it is worth checking on the drawing.
Three site constraints should be confirmed before ordering: available ceiling height, particularly for high pulley and pull-up positions; floor fixing where the machine is not free standing; and clearance around each position for entry, exit and full range of movement. Equipment is built to the EN 957 family of requirements, with a warranty of two to five years depending on the range.
Is a multi station enough for a hotel gym?
For most hotel and residential rooms, one multi station plus two or three cardio machines covers guest demand. See hotel and resort fitness.
Multi station or separate machines?
Separate strength training machines give better throughput and loading precision above roughly 40 to 50 members per hour; below that, a multi station is more economical per exercise offered.
