When no catalogue model fits the site, the playground is drawn rather than selected. Bespoke projects such as Eco-Marina, Adventure Constellation, Adventure Crossing and the Galaxy Configuration show what modular construction in armoured rope allows: linear routes along a riverbank, themed sets for a marina, and modular parks designed to grow. Around thirty published examples serve as a starting point for discussion, not as a limit.

How a bespoke project runs

The process starts from your plot, your theme and your budget, in that order. The plot decides what geometry is possible; the theme decides how the modules are dressed; the budget decides how much of the scheme is built in the first phase. The output is a layout compliant with EN 1176, with impact attenuating surfacing specified to EN 1177 from the free heights of fall of the design. Phasing is planned at this stage so that foundations and surfacing are laid once.

Who commissions bespoke playgrounds

Local authorities with a site that has an awkward shape or a strong identity, marinas and riverside developments, holiday villages, and leisure operators who want an installation that cannot be found elsewhere. Is there a minimum project size?

Bespoke work is normally justified from the point where several modules and a themed layout are involved. Smaller sites are usually better served by catalogue modules.
