Description
The Whaler Ship is a maritime-themed rope play boat styled after a cargo vessel in a blue, grey and red palette. Its three main sections – bow, stern and midship – form a 27.8 m play deck. Supplied and installed throughout France by Light In Fitness.
A working ship for working imaginations
Where most play boats evoke pirates, the Whaler takes the harder-edged look of a real merchant vessel – industrial colours, a genuine bow-to-stern layout, rope networks and gangways connecting the three sections. Children board at multiple points, cross the midship rigging and hold the bow like a crew, and the 5.8 m superstructure reads unmistakably as a ship from every corner of the site.

Installation across France
Light In Fitness, manufacturer and distributor based in Tours since 2013, supports more than 500 client sites. Every project includes a free layout study, delivery anywhere in France, installation by our teams and a professional warranty; wear parts remain available after the sale. Site machinery access is required for installation.
Operationally, the ship layout works like three structures in one: each section absorbs its own group, and the gangways between them turn circulation into part of the game. The 30.8 x 14.6 m safety zone is confirmed on your plot at the free layout study.
Frequently asked questions
Where does a ship structure work best?
Ports, waterfront promenades, coastal campsites and any town with a maritime history – the theme reinforces the site’s identity rather than importing a foreign one. Inland parks use it simply because ships are among the most-loved play themes.
How do the three sections organise play?
Bow, midship and stern each carry their own climbing and crossing challenges, so different age groups naturally spread along the 27.8 m length instead of crowding one point.
Is the colour finish durable?
The steel frame is hot-dip galvanised then powder-coated: the galvanising protects against corrosion, the powder-coat carries the blue-grey-red livery through years of outdoor exposure.
