Description
The Giant Octopus is a large-scale marine-themed rope play structure tracing the sinuous curves of an octopus in a red and black palette. Its body and tentacles of rope netting offer a vast elevated exploration ground for large groups of children. Supplied and installed throughout France by Light In Fitness.
Tentacles as climbing routes
The octopus form solves a real design problem: how to give many children many routes without them colliding. Each rope-net tentacle radiating from the central body is its own climbing path with its own access point, so groups disperse naturally across the 32.3 x 23.6 m footprint. At 10.5 m, the central body is among the tallest elements in our play collection – a red-and-black silhouette that defines the identity of an entire waterfront or leisure park.

Frequently asked questions
How many children can explore it at once?
The multi-tentacle layout is specifically designed for numerous groups: each limb absorbs its own stream of climbers. The certified capacity for your configuration is stated in the project compliance study.
Is 10.5 m of height compatible with a 3.0 m free fall height?
Yes – the net geometry limits any possible fall to 3.0 m regardless of the structure’s overall height, and EN 1177 attenuating surfacing covers the fall zones. Both are verified in the independent EN 1176 certification.
Which sites choose the Giant Octopus?
Seafront promenades, marina towns, aquaparks and major leisure destinations – anywhere a marine identity meets high visitor numbers and the ambition to own a landmark.
