Description
The Mine Shaft play tower drops children into the world of historic mining: a 12.2 m headframe tower with a decorative drum-winch system, stacked platforms, a glazed observation point at 7.7 m and two long polyethylene slides. Industrial heritage sites, mining towns and adventure parks gain a storytelling landmark that plays as well as it looks.
Vertical adventure, pit-head style
Miners aged 5 to 14 ascend the central vertical shaft via rope half-platforms, passing full platforms at 2.5 m, 4.2 m and 5.9 m before reaching the observation cabin at 7.7 m – floored in HPL and walled in polycarbonate for a safe panoramic view. Mine-themed visual panels and the drum-winch detail keep the story alive at every level, and the way back down is the best part: a choice of 11 m or 15 m polyethylene slides.

How safe is the 7.7 m observation point?
The lookout is fully enclosed with polycarbonate walls on an HPL floor, reached through the protected central shaft; the certified free fall height of the structure remains 2.5 m.
What do the two slides offer?
The 11 m slide provides a fast direct descent while the 15 m run stretches the ride out – giving children a reason to climb the tower again immediately.
What are the site requirements?
Allow a issued with the siting drawing (EN 1176-1) safety zone with EN 1176-1 compliant surfacing, foundations 1.0 m deep and access for installation machinery.
