Description
The Bodytone Forza FR12R stores twelve pairs of round or hexagonal dumbbells on a 296 cm double tier frame rated for 600 kg. It is the large capacity rack in the Forza storage line, designed for free weight areas where a full progression of loads has to stay on one wall run rather than being split across several short stands. Empty weight is 66 kg and the frame is built from 100 x 50 mm steel tube in 2.5 mm wall thickness, robot welded and tied together with structural connection plates.

Sizing the rack against your dumbbell set
Twelve pairs is the size that carries a continuous progression rather than a partial one. A 5 to 27.5 kg set in 2.5 kg steps is ten pairs; adding 30 and 32.5 kg fills the FR12R exactly and leaves nothing homeless on the floor. If your set runs to 40 kg or beyond, plan a second rack rather than mixing loose pairs into circulation space, because a dumbbell left on the floor is the most common trip hazard reported in free weight areas.
- Two tiers of six pairs, heaviest on the lower shelf to keep the centre of gravity low
- 600 kg rated capacity, sufficient for a full 5 to 32.5 kg rubber hex set with margin
- Angled cradles so each dumbbell seats itself and does not roll forward
- Non slip feet and ABS end caps that protect flooring and shins
- Accepts round and hexagonal heads, so an existing set can be transferred without replacement
Layout, flooring and daily use
At 296 cm long the FR12R needs a clear wall run of roughly 3.2 m once you allow for handling at each end, and a working corridor of at least 120 cm in front so two members can select weights and step back without collision. Depth is only 73 cm, which keeps the rack tight to the wall and preserves floor area for the training zone itself.
Loaded to capacity the assembly reaches around 660 kg spread over a 2.16 m2 footprint. On a ground floor slab that is unremarkable; on a suspended floor it should be checked with the building owner. Fit the rack over rubber tiles of at least 20 mm to absorb the impact of dumbbells being returned quickly, and inspect the welds, cradle pads and feet during the routine gym safety walk. Because the structure is self supporting and bolted only to itself, it can be repositioned when the floor layout changes.
Frequently asked questions
Does the FR12R take hexagonal dumbbells?
Yes. The cradles are shaped to hold both round and rubber hexagonal heads, which is why the same rack is specified for classic chrome sets and for modern urethane or rubber coated ranges.
Does the rack need to be anchored to the wall?
It is designed to be free standing on its own non slip feet and is stable when loaded from the bottom tier upwards. Anchoring is not required, though it is sometimes added in unsupervised facilities such as hotels or residences as an extra precaution.
What is delivered with the rack?
The FR12R is supplied as a storage frame only. Dumbbells are quoted separately, so an existing set can be reused, and Light In Fitness can price the rack and the weights together as a single free weight area package.
