Description

A 16 mm artificial turf lane framed by two fine graduated scales numbered 1 to 10, with a marked start line: the coach calls a distance, the athlete reads it off the floor.

The Sprint carries a denser graduation than the Basic version. It lets you read intermediate distances, which is exactly what acceleration testing needs when you want a marker at 5, 7 or 12 metres without putting a cone down. The lane is made from Pro quality synthetic turf for intensive indoor use, and it is sold by the square metre in custom lengths and widths.

What the marking gives you

The numbering and the lines are built into the surface during manufacturing, not applied on top of the turf afterwards. They do not wear off in use. The flip side is that they cannot be changed after delivery, so the marking plan and the distances have to be signed off before production starts.

Where it earns its place

CrossFit boxes and HYROX rooms, as a permanent conditioning lane. A numbered track turns distance into a fixed visual reference. Sprints, sled push, sled pull, bear crawls and farmer walks follow one another without resetting cones for every WOD, and times stay comparable from session to session.

Strength and conditioning centres, to standardise testing. A metred graduation supports fixed-distance speed protocols: repeated sprints, acceleration tests, speed endurance work. The data stays usable over time because the distance no longer depends on where somebody put the equipment.

Weight rooms with a functional zone, for readability. A marked lane defines the conditioning area without a partition and discourages people from stacking gear on it. It is also a signal: a drawn track tells anyone walking in that the room is built around performance.

Clubs and return-to-running programmes, for progressive protocols. In a supervised return to running, distance is the parameter to control before intensity. A graduation you can read on the floor makes progression measurable without a stopwatch or extra equipment.

Materials, installation and upkeep

Installation is loose lay or perimeter fixing on a hard, flat floor: concrete, tiling or existing rubber tiles. Flatness of the substrate is the critical point, because any irregularity in the floor comes through the turf surface and is felt when running on it.

Day-to-day upkeep is vacuuming to remove dust and debris, periodic brushing to lift the fibres back up, and cleaning with water and a neutral detergent. Avoid solvents and pressure washers on the marked areas.

Turf does not tolerate prolonged static loads: fibres compress under the feet of racks, selectorised machines or any equipment left standing. Keep the lane clear of fixed equipment and plan rubber gym flooring tiles for machine zones and drop zones. For the sleds that run on the lane, see the power sleds range.

Frequently asked questions

How is the price calculated?

Per square metre, not per linear metre. A 15 m by 2 m lane is 30 m2. Work out the real surface area before comparing offers, because a linear metre price and a square metre price are not directly comparable.

Is the track delivered in one piece?

Packing depends on the dimensions ordered: beyond a certain length the track is delivered in several widths to be joined on site. Send us your dimensions and we will confirm the exact packing for your configuration.

Can it be laid over existing rubber tiles?

Yes. Installation is on a hard, flat floor, which includes concrete, tiling and rubber tiles. The substrate has to be level.

Which width should I choose?

One-metre-wide tracks carry a supplement of 14.00 EUR excluding VAT per m2. A 2 m width takes two athletes side by side or a wide sled. State the width you want when you request your quotation.

Is the turf suitable for sled push and sled pull?

That is its main indoor use. Sled runners glide in a controlled and repeatable way on the fibres, whereas a rubber tile generates higher and less consistent resistance from one pass to the next.

What is not published on this page?

Fibre composition, backing, weight per m2, UV resistance, fire classification and certifications are given on request. They matter for delivery logistics and for compliance in a public-access building, so ask for the full technical data sheet before signing off a project that goes to a safety commission.
