Description

A single central guide line, no numbering, and the most accessible price in the range: the Line Up is the artificial turf track for sled work where guidance matters and metre marks do not.

16 mm turf track with a plain centre line

The Line Up is the most economical track of the range, and that is a deliberate design choice: one longitudinal centre line, no numbering and no metre graduation. It answers the guidance requirement of a sled lane – keeping the sled straight, aligning each run, holding a trajectory – without paying for a metred marking nobody uses. It is the obvious answer for a sled lane, a return lane or a second track alongside a graduated one.

Materials and installation

Pro quality synthetic turf, 16 mm fibre height, designed for intensive indoor use. The marking is integrated into manufacture, not applied on top of the turf: the centre line is part of the surface and does not wear off. Installation is loose-laid or fixed around the perimeter on a hard, flat floor – concrete, tiles or existing rubber tiles. Substrate flatness is the critical point: any unevenness in the floor telegraphs through the turf and becomes noticeable underfoot. For machine zones and drop zones alongside the track, plan for rubber gym flooring tiles instead, as turf does not take prolonged static loads.

What is it for?

CrossFit box and HYROX gym – a permanent sled lane. The centre line gives the athlete and the coach a fixed axis to work to. Sled push, sled pull, bear crawls and farmer walks stay in their lane, runs stop drifting sideways, and the conditioning zone keeps its shape through a whole class without resetting cones.

Return lane next to a graduated track. Where a metred track already carries the measured work, the Line Up covers the return leg and the second lane at a lower cost per square metre. Same turf, same feel underfoot, only the marking differs.

Weights room with a functional zone – reading the space. A marked lane defines the conditioning area without a partition and discourages equipment being parked on it. It is also an image marker: a drawn track immediately signals a performance-oriented gym.

Sports club and return-to-play work. The centre line supports controlled straight-line running, gait work and supervised sled progressions. Distances are set with the coach measuring tape or with markers, since this reference carries no graduation of its own.

What to know before ordering

The price is per square metre, not per linear metre. A track 15 m long and 2 m wide is 30 m2. Work out the real surface before comparing quotations: a price per linear metre and a price per square metre are not directly comparable.

The marking is built into the product. The centre line is part of the surface. It does not wear off, but it cannot be changed after delivery. The marking plan and the dimensions must be confirmed before production starts.

Turf does not take prolonged static loads. Fibres compress under the feet of racks, selectorised machines or any equipment left standing. Keep the track free of fixed equipment.

Fibre composition, backing, weight per m2 and fire classification are not published. These figures drive delivery logistics and compliance in public-access venues. Ask for the full technical data sheet before validating a project subject to a safety commission.

Frequently asked questions

Is the track delivered in one piece?

Packaging depends on the dimensions ordered: beyond a certain length the track is delivered in several widths to be joined on site. Send us your dimensions to find out the exact packaging for your configuration.

Can it be laid over existing rubber tiles?

Yes. Installation is on a hard, flat floor: concrete, tiles or rubber tiles. Substrate flatness is the critical point, since any unevenness shows through the turf surface and is felt when running.

Which width should I choose?

Tracks one metre wide carry a supplement of 14 EUR excluding VAT per m2. A 2 m width takes two athletes side by side or a wide sled. State the width you need with your quotation request.

Why choose this reference over a graduated track?

Because you need a lane, not a measuring device. If your programming calls distances out loud and reads them off the floor, take a graduated reference; if it only needs a straight, repeatable path, the Line Up does the job for less per square metre.

What daily maintenance does it need?

Regular vacuuming to remove dust and debris, periodic brushing to lift the fibres, cleaning with water and a neutral detergent. Avoid solvents and pressure washers on the marked areas.
