Description

A 16 mm turf track that turns distance into a permanent floor marking: one transverse bar every metre, numbered 01 to 10. Reading is instant, even from across the room and at speed, because there is no fine scale to decipher – one line, one metre. Within the range it is the best legibility-to-price ratio for a facility that wants a metred track without complex marking.

How the marking works

The numbering and the lines are produced with the surface, not applied to the turf afterwards. They will not wear off in use, but they cannot be changed after delivery either: the marking plan and the distances have to be approved before production starts. The turf itself is Pro quality synthetic grass rated for intensive indoor use, with a 16 mm fibre height.

Where it is used

CrossFit boxes and HYROX facilities – a permanent conditioning lane. A numbered track turns distance into a fixed visual reference: the coach calls a distance and the athlete reads it on the floor. Sprints, sled push, sled pull, bear crawls and farmer’s walks follow one another without resetting cones for every workout, and times stay comparable from one session to the next.

Strength and conditioning centres – standardised testing. Metre graduation makes it possible to hold speed protocols over a fixed distance: sprint repetitions, acceleration tests, speed endurance work. The data stays usable over time because the distance no longer depends on where the equipment was placed.

Weight rooms with a functional zone – a legible floor plan. The marked lane defines the conditioning area without a partition and discourages equipment from being parked on it. It is also an image marker: a marked track immediately signals a performance-oriented facility.

Clubs and return-to-running programmes – progressive protocols. In supervised return to running, distance is the parameter to control before intensity. A graduation that is legible on the floor makes progression measurable without a stopwatch or extra equipment.

Installation and upkeep

The track is laid loose or fixed around its perimeter on a hard, flat floor: concrete, tiling or existing rubber tiles. Flatness of the substrate is the critical point, because any irregularity comes through the turf and is felt underfoot at running speed. Day to day, vacuum to remove dust and debris, brush the fibres periodically to lift them, and wash with water and a neutral detergent. Avoid solvents and pressure washers on the marked areas.

Before you order

The price is per square metre, not per linear metre. A track 15 m long by 2 m wide is 30 m2. Work out the real surface before comparing offers: a price per linear metre and a price per square metre are not directly comparable.

Turf does not take prolonged static loads. Fibres compress under rack feet, selectorised machines and anything left standing. The track area has to stay clear of fixed equipment; use rubber flooring tiles for machine zones and drop zones.

Fibre composition, backing, weight per m2 and fire classification are not published. These figures drive delivery logistics and compliance in premises open to the public. Ask us for the complete technical sheet before signing off a project that has to pass a safety commission.

Frequently asked questions

Is the track delivered in one piece?

Packing depends on the dimensions ordered: beyond a certain length the track is delivered in several widths to be joined on site. Send us your dimensions and we will confirm exactly how your configuration ships.

Can it be laid over existing rubber tiles?

Yes. Installation is on a hard, flat floor: concrete, tiling or rubber tiles. Substrate flatness is the critical point, since any unevenness shows through the turf surface and is noticeable when running.

Which width should be chosen?

Tracks one metre wide carry a supplement of 14 EUR excluding VAT per m2. A 2 m width allows two athletes side by side or the passage of a wide sled. State the width you need when requesting a quotation.

Does the numbering start at the same end on both sides?

The bars are numbered 01 to 10 across the full width, so the sequence is read in one direction. Tell us which end of the lane is the start when you approve the marking plan, because it cannot be changed after production.

Is turf suitable for sled push and sled pull?

That is its main indoor purpose. Sled runners glide in a controlled, repeatable way over the fibres, whereas a rubber tile creates higher resistance that varies more from one pass to the next.
