16 mm Special Sprint Turf Track - Two Lanes with Start Line

Two athletes, two lanes, one start line: the configuration that turns a conditioning strip into a head-to-head test surface. The Special version adds what standard tracks lack as soon as training moves to duel format: two separate lanes, graduation running along both sides, and a clearly marked start line. Both athletes leave from the same point, on separate paths, reading the same distance scale.

Two lanes, graduation on both sides, one start line

The marking is produced with the surface, not applied to it. Each lane is delimited over the full length, the lateral graduation is repeated on both edges so distance is readable from either side of the track, and the start line gives the coach a fixed reference for every paired effort. This is the layout used for competitive sessions and paired testing.

Materials and installation

Pro-grade artificial turf with a 16 mm fibre height, for intensive indoor use. It is loose laid or fixed around its perimeter on a hard, flat floor: concrete, tiles or existing rubber tiles. Flatness of the substrate is the critical point, since any irregularity shows through the turf and is felt underfoot at running speed. Which facilities is it for?

CrossFit box and HYROX gym – a permanent conditioning corridor. Two delimited lanes let two athletes work side by side without drifting into each other, and the lateral graduation turns distance into a fixed visual reference. Sprints, sled push, sled pull, bear crawls and farmer’s walks follow one another without repositioning cones for every workout, and times stay comparable from session to session.

Strength and conditioning centre – paired testing. A marked start line and a graduated lane are what make a paired protocol repeatable: both athletes start level, both read the same scale, and the result no longer depends on where the equipment was placed that morning.

Weights room with a functional zone – a legible floor. The two marked lanes delimit the conditioning area without a partition and discourage equipment from being parked on it. It also reads as a statement: a laid-out track signals a performance-oriented facility on sight.

Club and return-to-play work – progressive protocols. For supervised running rehabilitation, distance is the parameter to control before intensity. Graduation along both edges keeps progression measurable without timing gates or extra equipment.

What to know before ordering

The price is per square metre, not per linear metre. A 15 m by 2 m track is 30 m2. Work out the real surface before comparing quotations: a linear-metre price and a square-metre price are not directly comparable.

The marking is built into the product, not added on top. Lanes, graduation and start line are part of the surface: they do not wear off, but they cannot be altered after delivery either. The marking plan and the distances must be approved before production starts.

Turf does not take prolonged static loads. Fibres compress under rack feet, guided machines or any equipment left standing. Keep the track area clear of fixed equipment and plan rubber tiles for machine zones and drop zones.

Frequently asked questions

Is the track delivered in one piece?

Packaging depends on the dimensions ordered: beyond a certain length the track is delivered in several widths to be joined on site. Send us your dimensions and we will confirm the exact packaging for your configuration.

Can it be laid over existing rubber tiles?

Yes. It is laid on a hard, flat floor: concrete, tiles or rubber tiles. Substrate flatness is the critical point, because any irregularity in the floor transfers to the turf surface and becomes noticeable when running.

What width should I choose?

This reference is a two-lane track and is not offered in the 1 m width. A 2 m width takes two athletes side by side or a wide sled. State the width you want with your quotation request.

What daily maintenance does it need?

Regular vacuuming to remove dust and debris, periodic brushing to lift the fibres, and washing with water and a neutral detergent. Avoid solvents and pressure washers on the marked areas.

Is turf suitable for sled push and sled pull?

That is its main indoor use. Sled runners glide in a controlled, repeatable way on the fibres, where a rubber tile generates higher resistance that varies more from one pass to the next.
