Description

A track that reads as plain turf from across the room and as a measuring scale under your feet. The S-005 carries a twin fine rule, at the top and at the bottom of the track. The graduation runs the full length but stays visually light: the surface keeps the look of uniform turf at a distance while giving precise distance reading in use.

Twin fine rules, discreet graduation top and bottom

Placing the scale on both edges rather than across the middle keeps the running surface clean and lets an athlete or a coach read the distance from either side. The line weight is deliberately thin, which is what makes this reference the choice of facilities where the floor is part of the interior design.

Materials and installation

Pro-grade artificial turf with a 16 mm fibre height, for intensive indoor use. Loose laid or fixed around its perimeter on a hard, flat floor: concrete, tiles or existing rubber tiles. Substrate flatness is the critical point, since any irregularity shows through the turf and is felt at running speed. Fibre composition, backing, weight per m2, UV resistance and fire classification are supplied on request – the other layouts are listed under turf sled tracks.

Which facilities is it for?

CrossFit box and HYROX gym – a permanent conditioning strip. The graduation turns distance into a fixed visual reference: the coach calls a distance, the athlete reads it off the edge of the track. Sprints, sled push, sled pull, bear crawls and farmer’s walks follow one another without repositioning cones for every workout, and times stay comparable from session to session.

Strength and conditioning centre – standardised testing. A scale running the full length supports speed protocols over a fixed distance: repeated sprints, acceleration tests, speed endurance work. The data holds up over time because the distance no longer depends on where the equipment was placed.

Studio and boutique gym – a floor that stays quiet. This is where the fine rule earns its place. The surface reads as plain turf in photographs and in the room, while the scale is there the moment a coach needs it. No wide painted lanes, no visual clutter.

Club and return-to-play work – progressive protocols. For supervised running rehabilitation, distance is the parameter to control before intensity. A readable scale on the floor makes progression measurable without timing gates or extra equipment.

What to know before ordering

The price is per square metre, not per linear metre. A 15 m by 2 m track is 30 m2. Work out the real surface before comparing quotations: a linear-metre price and a square-metre price are not directly comparable.

The marking is built into the product, not added on top. The graduation is part of the surface: it does not wear off, but it cannot be altered after delivery either. The marking plan and the distances must be approved before production starts.

Turf does not take prolonged static loads. Fibres compress under rack feet, guided machines or any equipment left standing. Keep the track area clear of fixed equipment and plan rubber tiles for machine zones and drop zones.

Fibre composition, backing, weight per m2 and fire classification are not published. These figures drive delivery logistics and compliance in public-access buildings. Ask us for the full data sheet before committing to a project subject to a safety inspection.

Frequently asked questions

Is the graduation visible enough from a distance?

It is designed to be discreet. Read up close it is precise; seen from the other end of the room the track looks like plain turf. If you need a scale that reads from ten metres away, choose a reference with reinforced graduation instead.

Is the track delivered in one piece?

Packaging depends on the dimensions ordered: beyond a certain length the track is delivered in several widths to be joined on site. Send us your dimensions and we will confirm the exact packaging.

What width should I choose?

The 1 m width is available on this reference for an extra 14.00 EUR excluding VAT per m2. A 2 m width takes two athletes side by side or a wide sled. State the width you want with your quotation request.

What daily maintenance does it need?

Regular vacuuming to remove dust and debris, periodic brushing to lift the fibres, and washing with water and a neutral detergent. Avoid solvents and pressure washers on the marked areas.

Is turf suitable for sled push and sled pull?

That is its main indoor use. Sled runners glide in a controlled, repeatable way on the fibres, where a rubber tile generates higher resistance that varies more from one pass to the next.
