Description
The TRAINER E45 is an arm and leg pedal trainer mounted on an inclined post, designed for users with reduced mobility. It measures 750 x 570 x 1,450 mm, takes users up to 150 kg, and is certified to EN 16630:2015-06 by TUV Rheinland. Professional price: 2,084.40 EUR excluding VAT.
Designed around hemiparesis
The inclined post is not a styling choice. It sets the crank axis so the pedalling motion continues without additional effort from the driving limb, which allows a user with hemiparesis to work the affected side in self-assisted mode: the unaffected arm or leg carries the movement, and the affected limb follows through its range rather than being left out of the session.
That is a specific clinical use case, and it is the reason this station appears in rehabilitation-oriented outdoor circuits rather than in general fitness areas alone. It also works as a straightforward upper and lower body cardio station for any user.
Function and muscles worked
The station stimulates both the lower and upper body, strengthening the leg and arm muscles while raising cardio-respiratory capacity. Difficulty is rated easy and there is no resistance to select.

Where it is specified
Urban parks, municipal fitness areas and accessible health trails serving users with motor impairment, and outdoor spaces attached to rehabilitation or care facilities. EN 16630:2015-06 is the European standard for permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment and is the reference used in public procurement for this category.
The station belongs to the wheelchair-accessible TRAINER range, which shares anchoring and colour schemes across the whole accessible circuit.
Frequently asked questions
What does self-assisted exercise mean here?
The two sides are linked, so the stronger limb drives the crank and the weaker limb is carried through the same range. The affected side gets movement and joint mobilisation without having to generate force itself.
What approach does the station need?
A firm, level and continuous route from the nearest accessible path, with bound surfacing inside the 375 x 357 cm safety area. Loose-fill surfacing meets the impact requirement but makes the station unreachable for many of its intended users.
Can it be combined with other accessible stations?
Yes. It is normally installed with the folding-seat upper-body stations and the low and high pull trainers to form a circuit that covers pushing, pulling and cyclic movement.
Light In Fitness designs inclusive outdoor fitness areas for local authorities, care facilities and property developers. Send your site plan and access constraints and we will quote equipment, surfacing and installation together.
