Description
The TRAINER E25 accessible outdoor bike measures 89.5 x 45 x 202 cm and needs a safety zone of 390 x 345 cm. It is designed so that a wheelchair user can pedal from their own chair, without transferring and without assistance.
Leg training for wheelchair users, outdoors
Accessible outdoor equipment is usually limited to arm and upper-body stations, on the assumption that the legs are not trainable. For many users that is wrong: partial mobility, spasticity management and circulation all benefit from passive or assisted pedalling. The E25 makes that possible in a public park rather than a rehabilitation centre, with a frame open at the approach side so a chair rolls into position and pedals positioned at seated height.
- Stimulates the lower body through a pedalling movement
- Strengthens the leg muscles
- Raises cardio-respiratory capacity
- Difficulty rating: easy, maximum user weight 150 kg
Materials and compliance
The structure is high-grade steel, shot-blasted and galvanised, protected by a double layer of polyester paint against weather exposure. Contact elements use HDPE panel. The station complies with EN 16630:2015-06 and has been tested and certified by TUV Rheinland. Standard colourways are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006), with other shades on request.

Making the approach work
At 45 cm wide the station itself is narrow, but the approach is what determines whether it can be used. The route from the car park or the path must be firm, level and free of kerbs, and the 390 x 345 cm safety zone must not be encroached on by the zones of neighbouring equipment. Design the circulation first and place the accessible stations along it.
Frequently asked questions
Can standing users use it too?
Yes. Restricting a station to one group tends to leave it unused and to feel like segregation. Mixed use is both practical and preferable.
Is resistance adjustable?
No. Effort is self-regulated by the user, which removes every mechanism a seated user might not be able to reach or operate independently.
What surfacing is needed?
A firm, level, non-loose surface meeting the EN 16630 impact requirement for the free height of fall. Gravel and bark chippings make wheelchair access impossible and should not be specified around accessible stations.
