Description
These outdoor parallel dip bars give a fixed pushing station for the chest, shoulders and triceps, built in 316L marine grade stainless steel. Price: 1,499 EUR excluding VAT.
The push half of a body weight area
A body weight training area built around a pull up bar alone trains one half of the upper body. Dips are the counterpart: they load the pectorals, the anterior deltoids and the triceps through a vertical pushing pattern, and together with pull ups they form the push and pull pair on which every body weight programme is built.
The parallel bars also take supported leg raises, knee raises and static hold core work, so the station earns its footprint several times over on a small area.
Progression for every level
Dips start at body weight, which is the honest objection to them: a beginner cannot lower the load. In practice the station is used progressively. New users begin with a static support hold, arms locked, then partial repetitions through a reduced range, then full repetitions. Experienced users add tempo, pauses or a weight belt. The same two bars serve the whole spread, and they double as a stretching and core support frame between sets.
Who installs it
- Municipalities and parks, paired with a pull up bar to complete the push and pull duo
- Barracks and emergency services, for the dip element of physical tests
- Schools and campuses, as a fundamental physical education apparatus
- Campsites and holiday sites, as a simple universal station
Installation, safety zone and surfacing
In free public access, on a municipal fitness area, a park or a school yard, this equipment falls under EN 16630, the standard for permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment. It requires a safety zone of at least 1.50 m around the structure and an impact attenuating surface compliant with EN 1177, with the thickness set by the free height of fall. On a closed private site those requirements remain the reference for good practice. Anchoring is by base plates set into a concrete foundation, or fixed to an existing slab.

Frequently asked questions
Are dips accessible to beginners?
The minimum load on a dip is the user body weight, so a beginner cannot start lighter. They start differently: a static support hold with locked arms, then partial repetitions, then the full range. The bars are also used for core work and stretching, which keeps them useful at every level.
What maintenance does the station need?
Periodic cleaning and an annual check of the anchor fixings. There is no paint to touch up and no galvanising to protect, which is the practical argument for stainless steel on a municipal budget.
Can the bars be installed on an existing slab?
Yes, provided the slab thickness and reinforcement are adequate. Send us the slab details and we will confirm whether it can be anchored directly or whether a concrete foundation is required.
Send us the site, the surface available and the surfacing already in place, and we will return a layout study, an anchoring plan and a free written quotation within 24 hours. Compare the whole range on our stainless steel outdoor fitness page or the street workout rigs selection.
