Description
The Solid Rock outdoor row is a plate loaded seated rowing station weighing 225 kg, taking four discs per arm and standing on a non slip aluminium platform. Plate loading outdoors is unusual, and it is what gives the station a genuine strength training range rather than a token resistance.
The movement is a horizontal pull against a chest support, loading the latissimus dorsi, trapezius, rhomboids and biceps. Each arm takes up to four discs of 5 or 10 kg, which are not supplied, so the operator sets the available load to suit the site: a supervised club can leave heavier plates out, a public installation can be limited deliberately.
The seat is adjustable and the platform is non slip aluminium, a material chosen because it does not corrode where footwear scuffs the surface. The frame is galvanised steel with an epoxy paint finish for permanent exposure. There are no exposed cables or pulleys, which removes the components that fail first on unsupervised outdoor equipment.

Siting an outdoor strength station
In open access settings such as a municipal fitness area, a park or a school ground, permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment falls under EN 16630, which sets a safety zone around the structure and, where the free fall height requires it, an impact attenuating surface to EN 1177. On closed private sites these figures remain the reference for good practice.
Plate loaded equipment adds a further question: where the discs live. A secure store or a fixed disc post near the station keeps plates from being carried away, and the decision affects the position of the machine. Anchoring is by base plates cast into concrete foundations or bolted to an existing slab. A siting study and an anchoring plan are prepared from your site drawing and issued with the quotation at no cost. We deliver to France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, quote export per project, and dispatch within five to ten working days from stock.
Frequently asked questions
Are the discs included?
No. Olympic discs are quoted separately, which lets the operator decide how much load is available on an unsupervised site.
Why plate loading rather than body weight resistance?
Because progression stops on a body weight machine once a user is strong enough. Plates give a strength range that keeps regular users improving, which is what a club or a municipality with committed users needs.
What maintenance does it need?
Periodic cleaning, inspection of the pivots and fixings and a check on the coating for damage. There are no cables or pulleys exposed to the weather.
