Description
The Solid Rock SR04/O is a seated incline press built entirely in stainless steel and loaded with olympic plates to a maximum of 151 kg, for permanent outdoor installation with no technical enclosure. The incline angle shifts the press onto the upper fibres of the pectorals and brings the shoulders and triceps into the movement, which is the angle a flat press cannot reach.
The movement runs on guided rails from a seated position, with the seat and backrest in stainless steel like the rest of the structure. Loading is by standard olympic plates, so there is no proprietary selection mechanism, no cable and no pulley exposed to rain, and maintenance reduces to cleaning and inspection. Plates are not supplied, which lets the load range and the security arrangement match how the site is run.
The structure is stated by the manufacturer as fully stainless steel with reinforced corrosion protection, resistant to weather and UV. No grade is published, so coastal, chlorinated or heavily salted environments are worth confirming with us before the order is placed. The station suits an urban fitness trail, a city stadium or a municipal open air strength area, alongside campsites, holiday residences and outdoor sports complexes.

Two pressing angles on an outdoor trail
Installing both a vertical chest press and an incline press is what turns an outdoor upper body group from a single exercise into a session. The flat or vertical press loads the mid chest, the incline loads the upper chest and the front of the shoulder, and together they cover the pressing pattern properly. Add a back pull station and the group is complete. Position the presses side by side so that the queueing pattern is predictable, keep clear space in front of each seat for full arm extension, and place the group where it is overlooked from a path or a building. The concrete foundation is sized from the equipment drawing and cured before delivery, and the surrounding surface must drain and stay firm. Send us your site plan and we will return a free implantation study covering base, surfacing, spacing and station mix.
Frequently asked questions
Why choose an incline press over a flat one?
The incline recruits the upper pectoral fibres and the anterior deltoid, which a flat press loads far less. Facilities that install both give users a complete pressing offer.
Does the machine need any servicing?
Cleaning and a periodic visual inspection of the anchors and the plate retention. There are no cables, pulleys or electrical parts, which is why the range needs no technical enclosure.
Are the plates supplied?
No. The machine takes standard olympic plates to a maximum of 151 kg and these are quoted separately so the load range and the security arrangement suit your site.
