Description
The Solid Rock SR01/O is a vertical chest press built entirely in stainless steel and loaded with olympic plates to a maximum of 150 kg. It is the highest rated press in the outdoor range, and the reason is the loading system: without a weight stack there is no ceiling imposed by a column of plates, only what the frame is rated to carry.
The movement is a vertical chest press, guided on rails, loading the pectorals, the anterior deltoids and the triceps. Seat and backrest are stainless steel like the rest of the structure, which resists weather, UV and corrosion without a coating that can chip. There are no cables and no pulleys exposed to moisture, which is what removes the technical maintenance that outdoor cable machines require and means the station needs no plant room or service enclosure.
Plates are standard olympic and are not supplied, so the load range and the security arrangement are specified according to how the site is managed. The station is bought by local authorities, social housing operators and developers equipping an open access fitness trail, and by campsites, holiday residences, outdoor sports complexes and gyms with an outdoor area.

Specifying the pressing station on an outdoor trail
The chest press is usually the most used station on an open access strength trail, so it should be positioned where a queue does not block the circulation and where it is visible from a path or a building. Pair it with the iso-lateral back pull so that push and pull sit together, which is what turns a set of machines into a programme. The concrete foundation is sized from the equipment drawing and must be poured and cured before the machine arrives, and the surrounding surface has to drain and stay firm under repeated use. Plate management is the decision most often left too late: some operators secure the plates permanently on site, others store them and release them for supervised sessions, and the choice affects both the base layout and the security arrangement. We prepare a free implantation study covering base design, surfacing, spacing and the equipment mix from your site plan.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the plate loaded system allow a higher maximum load?
A selectorised machine is limited by the plates in its column. A plate loaded machine is limited only by the frame rating, which is why the SR01/O reaches 150 kg while remaining maintenance free.
Does the machine need a technical enclosure?
No. There are no cables, pulleys or electrical components, so nothing has to be housed or protected. That is a significant saving on a municipal installation.
Are olympic plates included?
No, they are quoted separately so the load range and the security arrangement match your site and its supervision arrangements.
