Description
The stainless steel outdoor leg press is a plate loaded machine that takes Olympic plates, so lower body training outdoors follows the same progressive overload logic as an indoor gym floor. It works quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes and calves through a full range, and the load is set by the user rather than fixed by a hydraulic damper, which is the usual limitation of open air strength equipment. The list price is 7,999 EUR excluding VAT.
The frame is built in high quality stainless steel and carries no coating that needs renewing, so rain, humidity and prolonged UV exposure do not degrade it. The ergonomics place the back in a natural position, with anti-slip contact surfaces that stay usable when the machine is wet.

Plate loaded strength training in an open air gym
Most outdoor fitness equipment uses body weight or a fixed resistance, which caps progression once a user is trained. A plate loaded leg press removes that ceiling: the load is adjusted plate by plate, so the same machine serves a beginner and an athlete building explosive power, and the training programme does not have to move indoors once members progress.
That makes the machine a natural fit for outdoor strength parks, public sports areas and high specification private installations, and for sites serving athletes from running, cross training or football who need genuine lower body loading. On a freely accessible site, plan the EN 16630 safety zone of at least 1.50 m around the machine and check the ground surface, since plates will be handled and set down around the frame; bonded rubber gym flooring tiles are the practical answer.
One point to settle at specification stage is plate management. In an unsupervised public installation, Olympic plates need a storage and security arrangement, which is normally either a locked rack or a supervised access regime. Light In Fitness covers this in the free layout study before issuing the quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Are Olympic plates supplied with the machine?
They are quoted separately, so the loading can be matched to the user profile and to the security arrangements of the site. Bumper plates and Olympic barbells suited to outdoor use are available on the same quotation.
Does stainless steel really need no maintenance?
It needs no repainting or recoating, which is the maintenance that consumes budget on painted outdoor equipment. Periodic cleaning and an inspection of the fixings and moving parts remain necessary, as on any loaded machine.
What are the dimensions and what surfacing is required?
Overall dimensions, the anchor bolt layout and the recommended surfacing are supplied with the free layout study. Light In Fitness has manufactured and installed outdoor stainless steel equipment from Tours since 2013 and returns quotations within 24 working hours.
