Description
This stainless steel lat pulldown is an outdoor plate loaded machine that reproduces the vertical pulling movement with Olympic discs. It targets the latissimus dorsi, trapezius, biceps and shoulders, and is specified for outdoor strength parks, public sports areas and high specification private installations.
Loading with Olympic plates rather than a weight stack is the key design choice for an unsupervised outdoor site. There is no cable, no selector pin and no enclosed mechanism to jam or to attract vandalism, and the load range is limited only by the plates the operator supplies, so the same machine serves a beginner working with 10 kg and a trained athlete pulling heavy. Progression is continuous rather than fixed to stack increments.
The frame is stainless steel, grade 316L across this outdoor range, which does not rust and resists rain, humidity, salt air and UV exposure without any protective coating to maintain. That is what allows the machine to be installed permanently in a coastal park or an exposed public space and still look presentable after several seasons. The seat and pull position are set for a natural pulling path, with the stability needed to keep the movement controlled under load.

Specifying stainless steel for public outdoor sites
Painted or galvanised equipment is cheaper at purchase and more expensive over a fifteen year life, because the coating is the wear item. Once it is chipped by a dropped plate or abraded at the contact points, corrosion starts underneath and the only remedies are repainting on site or replacement. Stainless steel removes that maintenance line entirely, which is why local authorities specify it for coastal and high traffic locations and why we carry a lifetime warranty on stainless structures. On the installation side, free access sites fall under EN 16630, with a clear peripheral safety zone and impact absorbing surfacing to EN 1177 where the free height of fall requires it. Plate storage should be planned alongside the machine so discs are not left on the ground. Our team supplies the implantation study and the anchorage drawing on request.
Frequently asked questions
What are the machine dimensions?
Overall dimensions, the ground footprint and the resulting safety zone are supplied with the implantation study prepared for your site.
Are the Olympic plates included?
No. Plates are quoted separately so the load range can be matched to your users, and outdoor plate storage can be added to the project.
Does stainless steel need any maintenance?
Periodic cleaning keeps the finish bright and a routine safety inspection of fixings is recommended, but there is no coating to renew.
