Description
The Bodytone SRX14 rotary lat pulldown is a plate loaded vertical pulling machine with independent iso-lateral arms, rated to 250 kg in total. It develops the width and density of the back, loading the latissimus dorsi, trapezius and rhomboids. What separates it from a fixed bilateral bar pulldown is the rotation: each arm turns independently on its own axis, so the trajectory adapts to the user’s morphology, right to left compensation is limited and recruitment of the latissimus dorsi becomes genuinely symmetrical.
The seat adjusts in height to suit all body sizes. Loading is by Olympic discs on 50 mm technopolymer covered supports, up to 250 kg in total or 125 kg per arm. The chassis is 3 mm carbon steel in 100 x 50 mm and 75 x 50 mm tube with 8 mm and 10 mm plates and robotised welding, running on high precision 6205 bearings over 25 mm calibrated 20 grade steel shafts.

Specifying an iso-lateral pulldown
Independent rotating arms answer a problem that is invisible on a straight bar: on a bilateral pulldown the dominant side takes more of the load, and the imbalance compounds over months of training. Giving each arm its own axis of rotation means the weaker side has to do its own work, and it lets a coach load one side more heavily during a corrective phase. For athletic preparation and for return to sport after a shoulder injury, that capability is the reason to choose this machine over a cable station.
At 149 x 169 cm and 206 cm high, the SRX14 needs ceiling clearance checked before the position is fixed, and it weighs 213 kg before discs. Install it on weightlifting grade rubber flooring with disc storage on both sides, and confirm the floor build up before installing above ground level. Levelling feet allow the frame to be trimmed on an uneven floor, which matters on a rotary machine because a twisted base shows up as uneven arm travel.
Frequently asked questions
What load can each arm take?
125 kg per arm, 250 kg in total, on standard Olympic discs. Discs are not supplied and can be quoted with the machine.
Does the seat adjust?
Yes, in height, so the pull angle can be set correctly for users of very different statures. Correct seat height is what determines whether the lat is loaded through its full range.
What warranty applies?
The Bodytone manufacturer warranty applies, with conditions confirmed on the quotation. Our ranges carry 2 to 5 years depending on the equipment. Quotations are issued within 24 working hours.
