Description
The Bodytone SRX11 horizontal row is a plate loaded back machine with linear guidance, rated to 250 kg and built for back thickness work in professional gyms. It loads the latissimus dorsi, rhomboids, trapezius and posterior deltoids through a horizontal pull, with the chest supported so the lumbar spine takes none of the strain. What separates it from other guided rowing machines is the guidance system: LM30UU linear bearings running on calibrated steel shafts, which hold a precise, stable and quiet trajectory even at the top of the load range.
Loading is by Olympic discs on technopolymer coated horns, giving free progression up to 250 kg in total, or 125 kg per arm. The chassis is 3 mm carbon steel in 100 x 50 mm and 75 x 50 mm tube, robot welded, with 8 mm and 10 mm plates at the stress points and a D shaped base that keeps the footprint small without losing stability.

Specifying and installing a plate loaded row
Independent arms with 125 kg available on each side let a coach address the strength asymmetry that almost every lifter develops between the two sides of the back, which a fixed bar row cannot do. The four position footplate changes the trunk angle, and therefore the emphasis between the upper back and the lats, without any change of machine. Those two adjustments are what justify a plate loaded row alongside a selectorised one on a larger floor.
The machine occupies 168 x 180 cm, so plan it as an island rather than a wall station, with plate storage on both sides so discs are not carried across a circulation route. Weightlifting grade rubber flooring under the frame protects the slab and controls the noise of discs being seated. Levelling feet allow the base to be trimmed on an uneven floor, which matters on a linear guided machine because a twisted frame will show up as uneven travel.
Frequently asked questions
What load can each arm take?
125 kg per arm, 250 kg in total, using standard Olympic discs. Discs are not supplied and can be quoted with the machine.
How does linear guidance change the feel?
Linear bearings on calibrated shafts remove the play and the friction of a bushing system, so the resistance felt through the handles is the plate weight rather than the mechanism. The movement also stays quiet under heavy load, which matters in a gym where the strength area adjoins other spaces.
What warranty applies?
The Bodytone manufacturer warranty applies, with conditions confirmed on the quotation. Warranty across our ranges runs from 2 to 5 years depending on the equipment. Quotations are issued within 24 working hours.
