Description
PHOBOS XL puts one rope platform at 2.5 m under a 4 m mast. There are no intermediate stages, so the climb is continuous and the arrival feels earned. For a park that wants a visible landmark without committing to a 6 or 7 m pyramid, this is the point where height starts to read from a distance.
Configuration
- Central hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 168.3 mm diameter, 4 m high
- Six main cables anchored into reinforced concrete footings
- Six rope walls between the bearing cables
- A single rope platform at 2.5 m
- Hot-dip galvanised adjustment bolts at the anchors
Site and installation
The safety area is a 10.5 m diameter circle, 86.5 square metres, and foundations are cast at 0.8 m depth. Light to moderate plant access may be required for erection, so it is worth confirming gate widths and ground bearing before the programme is fixed. Where access is genuinely restricted, the 3 m PHOBOS delivers the same single-platform concept within a 9.0 m circle.
Materials
Hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 168.3 mm diameter. Polyamide cables reinforced with galvanised steel, 18 mm diameter. Plastic and aluminium connectors; stainless steel and painted cast steel fixings.

Frequently asked questions
What surfacing depth does a 2.5 m fall height require?
More than the low pyramids in the range, and it must extend across the whole 10.5 m circle. Bonded rubber thickness or loose-fill depth is selected against the 2.5 m figure; we can price the surfacing with the equipment so the two are never mismatched.
Is a continuous climb suitable for younger children?
The approval starts at 5 years for this reason. Without intermediate platforms there is no natural resting stage, so the unit suits confident school-age climbers rather than early years.
What plant is needed on site?
Light to moderate machinery access may be required for installation. Send us a photograph of the access route and the working area and we will confirm the requirement before quoting.
Tell us the clear diameter available and your age profile and we will confirm the fit. Browse the rope climbing pyramids range or request a quote.
