Description
NIX is the simplest 3 m pyramid in the range and, for many small playgrounds, that is the reason to choose it. One horizontal net platform at 1.0 m sits at the heart of the net, giving young children a gathering point they can reach on their first attempt, and the free height of fall never exceeds 1.0 m anywhere on the structure.
A first climbing structure
- Central hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 139.7 mm diameter, 3 m high
- Six main bearing cables fixed to the ground through galvanised anchor plates
- Six net panels linking adjacent bearing cables
- A single horizontal net platform at 1.0 m
The value of a low central platform is social rather than athletic. Children sit on it, talk, and use it as a base for games, which is what turns a piece of climbing equipment into the focal point of a small neighbourhood playground.

Typical settings

It is the unit specified when a site needs a recognisable climbing structure and a gathering point, but neither the budget nor the available ground will carry a larger pyramid.
Frequently asked questions
What is the smallest area NIX can be installed in?
An 8.0 m diameter circle of clear ground, around a 5.0 x 5.0 m equipment base. Kerbs, benches and tree trunks must sit outside that circle.
How does NIX compare with CALYPSO?
They share the 5.0 x 5.0 m base, the 3 m mast and the 1.0 m fall height. CALYPSO adds a second platform at 2.0 m and adjustable cable tensioners; NIX keeps a single platform and a slightly smaller safety circle.
Is a galvanised mast as durable as stainless steel?
Hot-dip galvanising gives a very long service life in normal inland conditions and is the standard specification across the pyramid range. Stainless steel posts are used on the marine-themed structures where salt exposure is the governing factor.
