Description
CALYPSO offers two levels of net play on a compact 5.0 x 5.0 m base, but its distinguishing feature is maintenance related: the six main cables are anchored through adjustable tensioning nuts, so the net can be brought back to full tension without dismantling anything.
Why adjustable tension matters
Every tensioned rope structure relaxes slightly over its first seasons as the ropes bed in and the ground settles. On systems with fixed anchors that slack is difficult to correct and the net begins to sag, which changes the fall geometry and shortens rope life through abrasion at the connectors. Turnbuckle anchors turn that from a repair into a routine adjustment recorded at the annual main inspection.
Configuration
- Central hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 3 m high
- Six main bearing cables anchored to the ground through adjustable tensioning nuts
- Six net walls linking adjacent cables
- Two horizontal net platforms at 1.0 m and 2.0 m
Materials
Hot-dip galvanised steel mast. Net in polypropylene rope reinforced with galvanised steel cables, 16 mm diameter. Plastic, aluminium and stainless steel connectors. Foundations at 0.7 m depth.

What is supplied
Delivery includes the certificate of conformity, the technical data sheet, the installation and maintenance manual with the tensioning figures, and a site layout drawing showing the 4.0 m radius safety circle. Keep the tensioning figures with the inspection log, as they are the reference for every future adjustment.
Frequently asked questions
How often does the tension need checking?
Include it in the periodic operational inspection and again at the annual main inspection. Expect most of the adjustment to be needed in the first two years, after which the system stabilises.
Can our own grounds team make the adjustment?
The tensioning nuts are accessible at ground level and need no special equipment, but the adjustment should be made against the manufacturer figures supplied with the technical file and recorded in the inspection log.
Why two platforms rather than one?
Two levels at 1.0 m and 2.0 m give younger children an achievable first stage and older ones somewhere to progress to, which is what allows the 3 to 14 age approval on a structure this compact.
