Description
DAPHNIS gives a park real vertical presence, 6.5 m of it, without the footprint of the largest pyramids. Eight main cables run from a 219.1 mm mast to reinforced concrete anchors, carrying eight net walls and horizontal rope platforms at several heights within the volume.
Volume rather than sprawl
The play value of a tall pyramid comes from the volume enclosed by the net, not the area it covers. Children climb, traverse, drop through to a lower platform and climb again, using the interior as much as the faces. At 11.3 x 11.3 m on plan, DAPHNIS delivers that volume on a footprint smaller than many single-storey spread structures.
Configuration
- Central hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 219.1 mm diameter, 6.5 m high
- Eight main bearing cables anchored into reinforced concrete blocks
- Eight net walls between the bearing cables
- Horizontal rope play platforms at several levels
Materials
Hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 219.1 mm diameter. Polyamide cables reinforced with galvanised steel strands, 18 mm diameter. Plastic, aluminium and stainless steel connectors. Foundations at 1.0 m depth.

Frequently asked questions
How much clear ground does DAPHNIS need?
A 14.4 m diameter circle, about 163 square metres. That is the figure to test against the site survey first, because it is almost always the binding constraint rather than the 11.3 x 11.3 m equipment base.
Why does the fall height stay at 2.0 m on a 6.5 m structure?
The enclosing net and the position of the rope platforms limit how far a user can fall clear at any point, so the figure is independent of the mast height. All the large pyramids in the range share a 2.0 m free height of fall, which keeps the surfacing specification consistent across a scheme.
Can several pyramids be installed together?
Yes, and mixing heights works well, giving each age band its own structure while keeping one visual language. Overlapping safety circles must be assessed against the greater fall height; we mark the combined zones on the layout drawing.
