Description

TITAN marks the step up to eight-cable construction. Where the smaller pyramids use six main cables, TITAN uses eight around a 219.1 mm mast, producing a wider, more stable net volume and two generous net platforms at 2.0 m and 3.5 m. It is the unit most large municipal schemes settle on.

What eight cables change

  • A wider net volume with shorter unsupported spans between cables
  • More climbable faces, so more children can be on the structure at once
  • Load spread across eight ground anchors rather than six
  • Hot-dip galvanised tensioning bolts at every anchor point

Configuration

Central hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 219.1 mm diameter, 6 m high. Eight main bearing cables anchored into reinforced concrete footings, eight net walls between them, and horizontal net platforms at 2.0 m and 3.5 m. The safety area is an 11 m diameter circle and foundations are cast at 1.0 m depth.

Materials

Braided, bonded polyamide net reinforced with galvanised steel strands, 18 mm diameter. Connecting elements in plastic, aluminium, stainless steel and painted steel.

Typical applications

District parks, secondary school grounds, large campsites and holiday villages account for most TITAN installations. It is specified where a site needs one recognisable structure that will still be attractive in fifteen years, and where an 11 m clear circle is achievable without moving paths or mature trees.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 6 m pyramid too tall for a public park?

Height and risk are not the same thing. The free height of fall is 2.0 m because the enclosing net catches a user before they fall clear, and that is the figure your risk assessment and surfacing specification work from.

What does third-party certification add?

An independent body has tested and certified the design against EN 1176-1, which is the evidence most public tenders ask for. The certificate is issued with the technical file.

How does TITAN compare with DAPHNIS?

DAPHNIS is 6.5 m on the same 219.1 mm mast and eight-cable layout, but needs a 14.4 m safety circle against 11 m for TITAN. Where clear ground is the constraint, TITAN gives most of the height for a much smaller reserved area.
