Description
SINOPE is the mid-range pyramid that most school and neighbourhood schemes end up comparing everything else against. A 4.5 m mast, an 8.0 x 8.0 m base, two horizontal net levels at 1.0 m and 2.5 m, and a free height of fall of 1.0 m across a 9.6 m safety circle.
Why pyramids suit school grounds
A pyramid has no queue. Six net faces mean six simultaneous routes, so a group arriving together disperses around the structure instead of forming a line at a ladder. There is also nothing to hide behind, which is why supervising staff generally prefer an open net structure over enclosed tower equipment in a playground they have to watch from a distance.
Configuration
- Central hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 139.7 mm diameter, 4.5 m high
- Six main bearing cables fixed to the ground through galvanised anchor plates
- Six net panels between the bearing cables
- Two horizontal net levels at 1.0 m and 2.5 m
Materials
Hot-dip galvanised steel mast, 139.7 mm diameter. Net in polypropylene reinforced with galvanised steel strands, 16 mm diameter. Plastic, aluminium and stainless steel connectors. Foundations at 0.7 m depth.

Combining with other equipment
A pyramid pairs well with low, spread-out equipment for younger users, because the two occupy very different footprints. Where safety areas overlap, the shared zone is assessed against the greater fall height; we mark the combined zone on the layout drawing so nothing is discovered late on site.
Frequently asked questions
How many children can climb at once?
Six net faces and two horizontal levels mean the structure absorbs a class-sized group without pinch points, which is the main reason schools specify a pyramid over a tower of comparable cost.
What is the practical difference from HYPERION?
They share the base, the net levels, the safety circle and the 1.0 m fall height. SINOPE is 0.5 m taller and approved from 5 years; HYPERION is 4 m and approved from 3, so the choice usually comes down to whether your site has to serve pre-school children.
Does the mast need repainting?
No. The mast is hot-dip galvanised rather than painted, so there is no coating to maintain over the life of the structure.
