The twister is the trunk mobility station of fitness trails and outdoor fitness areas: a rotating platform, two handles, no adjustment and no load to handle. It is often the first station installed and the most used, because it works for every audience. This guide sets out what it trains, which versions exist and how to size the installation.
What a twister trains
The user steps onto the platform, takes the handles and rotates the pelvis from left to right. The movement loads the obliques and the abdominal girdle, maintains hip mobility and keeps the lower back supple. With no load and no adjustment, it suits both a warm-up and a full session for users who are not athletes. Its difficulty level is rated easy across every reference.

The single twister measures 785 x 740 x 1400 mm and weighs 45 kg, or 25 kg in the pylon-mounted Steel4Fit version. Every reference complies with EN 16630:2015 and is certified by TUV Rheinland.

The twister frequently shares a foundation with other mobility stations. The twister and surfer set occupies 1345 x 740 x 1400 mm with a safety zone of 4360 x 3750 mm, at 1,504.80 EUR excluding VAT. The surfer, nordic walker and twister set brings three stations together in 2189 x 718 x 1472 mm, with a safety zone of 5190 x 3720 mm, at 2,700.00 EUR excluding VAT: the densest solution per square metre for a small plot.
For an inclusive trail, the wheelchair-accessible upper twister, at 720.00 EUR excluding VAT, moves the rotation up to chest level and can be used from a wheelchair. Siting and installation
The twister needs a clear safety zone around the platform, given on each product sheet, and a concrete foundation sized for the version chosen. Like every station that uses body weight as its resistance, it has no weights to be stolen and no settings to check between users, which limits maintenance to a periodic inspection.
Two standards govern this type of installation and they are not interchangeable. Outdoor fitness equipment for adults falls under EN 16630. Equipment intended for children falls under EN 1176-1, with its impact-absorbing surfacing assessed under EN 1177. A site that mixes the two is designed as two separate zones.
If a version is unavailable
Between versions of the same twister, moving from single to double changes only the number of stations and the foundation. If the OutdoorStart range is unavailable, the Steel4Fit range delivers the same movement with a reinforced construction. The surfer is the closest station functionally.

What is the difference between a TRAINER twister and the stainless one?
The TRAINER twister is galvanised and powder-coated steel, suitable for the majority of sites. The stainless rotating twister is intended for locations exposed to sea spray, where galvanising alone will not last.
