Two platforms, one structure

A twister is one of the most used items on any outdoor area: it is easy, it is quick, and everybody understands it without instructions. That popularity creates a queue. Doubling the platforms on a single frame doubles the throughput for one foundation and one anchoring operation, which is why the double version is usually the better value on a busy site.

It also changes how the station is used. Two platforms side by side turn a solitary exercise into a shared one: couples, friends and carers use it together, and on a municipal area social use is what keeps equipment occupied rather than ornamental.

What the twister trains

The rotating movement mobilises the hip joints and the lumbar spine, strengthens the abdominal muscles and stretches the pectorals. Difficulty is rated easy and the effort is entirely self paced, which makes it a warm up station at the start of a circuit and a mobility station in its own right for older users.

Materials and finish

High quality steel structure, shot blasted and galvanised, covered with a double layer of polyester paint. The rotating platforms and handles are in UV resistant HDPE panels, which keep their grip when wet and do not become hot in direct sun. Colours: yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006), other shades on request. Galvanised and painted carbon steel, not stainless steel.

Is the double version better value than two single twisters?

In most cases yes: one frame, one foundation and one installation instead of two, for the same two training positions. Two separate units only make sense when the layout requires them at opposite ends of an area.

What are the exact dimensions?

The two station format means the footprint depends on the configuration ordered, so we supply the exact figures and the safety zone with the quotation, before anything is committed.

Is it suitable for children?

The station is designed for adult outdoor fitness, and children on a public area will use it whether or not it is intended for them. The safety zone and the surfacing specification are what keep that safe, and we size both in the layout study.
