Description
The TRAINER Double Stepper is a two station outdoor stepper certified to EN 16630:2015 and tested by TUV Rheinland, rated at 150 kg per user position. It reproduces a stair climbing action for the quadriceps, glutes, hip flexors and trunk stabilisers, with two sets of pedals side by side so that a pair of users train together on one foundation. In busy municipal fitness areas that doubles throughput on the same civil works, which is usually the deciding argument against installing two single units.

Why a shared station changes usage patterns
Outdoor fitness equipment is used far more when it can be used socially. A single stepper produces a queue of one and a bystander; a double stepper produces two people training at the same rhythm, and observed dwell times on paired equipment are consistently longer. The stepping action itself is rated easy, so the station suits first time users, older visitors and rehabilitation walking programmes as readily as it suits a warm up for a street workout circuit.
- Two independent stepping positions on one structure
- Legs, glutes, hips and abdominal wall in a low impact pattern
- Non slip aluminium steps, effective when wet
- Easy difficulty rating, wide user range from 140 cm upwards
- One foundation and one installation for two training positions
Siting and long term maintenance
Allow the enlarged safety area given on the installation drawing rather than assuming the single stepper footprint, since two users swing their arms and step off in opposite directions. Surfacing must match the free height of fall specified for the model. Ground anchoring is required.
Steel is shot blasted and hot dip galvanised before the two coat polyester finish, so corrosion protection does not depend on the paint remaining intact. The parts to watch are the pivot bushings under the pedals, which take the highest cycle count of any component here; include them in the routine operational inspection and keep a set in the spare parts stock for high traffic sites.
Frequently asked questions
Is the resistance adjustable?
No. The stepper works against the user own body weight, which is the standard approach for unsupervised public equipment. Intensity is varied by cadence and by session duration.
Can two users of very different weights train at once?
Yes. The two positions are mechanically independent, each rated to 150 kg, so one user does not affect the other.
Is it suitable for a health trail as well as a fitness area?
It is. The easy difficulty rating and low impact action make it a common choice for health trails, senior fitness zones and campsite or resort circuits, as well as for municipal street workout parks.
