TRAINER M03 Helm and Hand Wheels - Outdoor Mobility Set

The TRAINER M03 set combines a helm wheel and a pair of hand wheels into one upper-limb mobility installation. The helm measures 47 x 90 x 202 cm and weighs 25 kg plus a 50 kg pylon; the hand wheels measure 57 x 100 x 140 cm and weigh 35 kg. Certified to EN 16630:2015-06 by TUV Rheinland, it is supplied by Light In Fitness at 1,638 EUR excluding VAT.

Mobility rather than strength

Most outdoor equipment loads muscle. These two devices load range of motion. Turning the helm takes the shoulder through a large circular path with both hands fixed on the rim; the hand wheels do the same for each arm separately and at a smaller radius, reaching the shoulder in rotation and the forearm in supination and pronation. Together they strengthen and stretch the shoulder girdle, the chest, the forearms and the arms, and improve joint mobility across the upper limb.

Who actually uses these stations

Mobility devices are the stations that get used by people who did not come to the park to train: older residents on a daily walk, parents waiting beside a playground, people recovering from a shoulder problem. That is a real argument for including them. A circuit built only from demanding equipment serves a narrow population; adding two mobility devices widens the user base of the whole installation at modest cost.

Construction

High-grade steel, shot-blasted and hot-dip galvanised, then finished with a double layer of polyester powder coating. The wheel and rim panels are HDPE, which is what keeps the grip surfaces usable in cold weather and stops them heating in direct sun. Standard colours are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006), with other RAL references on request.

Do the two devices have to be installed together?

They are quoted as a set and are designed to be read as a pair, but they do not have to be adjacent. The helm is pylon-mounted and the hand wheels carry their own base, so the two can be placed at different points along a trail if the design calls for it.

Are they suitable for wheelchair users?

Not as standard. Both devices are dimensioned for a standing user of at least 140 cm. For seated use, specify the wheelchair-accessible stations from the dedicated range, which have the approach clearance and handle height set for a chair.

Do the moving parts need lubrication?

The bearings are sealed and are checked rather than serviced. What matters on a rotating device is that the inspection regime picks up any developing play early, which is the purpose of the operational inspection every one to three months under EN 16630.
