Surfer Double TRAINER - Two-User Outdoor Rotation Station

The Surfer Double TRAINER is a two-position outdoor station with independent rotating platforms, from the OutdoorStart range. Certified to EN 16630:2015-06 by TUV Rheinland, it is supplied by Light In Fitness at 1,614 EUR excluding VAT.

Balance and rotation, not strength

The user stands on the platform, holds the fixed handles and swings the hips and legs from side to side. The pattern is closer to skiing or skating than to a gym movement: the feet travel, the trunk stays facing forward, and the oblique abdominals and hip muscles work to control the swing and stop it. It trains the lower body, the obliques and the hip musculature, and it develops coordination and suppleness more than raw force.

Twister or surfer: they are not the same movement

The two are often confused. On a twister the feet stay together on a disc and the trunk rotates around a vertical axis, which works the waist and lumbar spine. On a surfer the legs swing laterally beneath a stable trunk, which loads the hips and the obliques dynamically and demands active balance. A circuit that includes both covers rotation in two distinct planes; a circuit with two twisters simply repeats itself.

Construction

High-grade steel, shot-blasted and hot-dip galvanised, then finished with a double layer of polyester powder coating. The rotating platforms use UV and weather-resistant HDPE panels, which keep their grip and their colour through the seasons and stay safe underfoot when wet. Standard colours are yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006) and lime (RAL 6018/9006), with other RAL references quoted on request.

Frequently asked questions

Is it suitable for children?

The station is dimensioned for adults and adolescents, and children will use it whether or not it is intended for them, which is why the handle height and platform travel are designed to keep the movement controlled. For a dedicated children’s area, specify from the junior outdoor range instead, where the geometry is scaled to their reach.

Why choose the double version?

Rotation stations are social: people use them in pairs and stay longer when someone else is alongside. The double format also halves the foundation and installation work relative to two single units, which is where the real cost difference sits on a municipal project.

What maintenance do the rotating platforms need?

Periodic inspection of the rotation bearing for play and noise, and a check that the HDPE panel fixings remain tight. The bearings are sealed; the panels are replaceable individually if one is damaged.
