Description
The TRAINER nordic walker is a free standing outdoor cardio station from the OutdoorStart range: 100.5 x 54 x 149.5 cm, 49 kg, safety zone 354 x 400.5 cm, EN 16630:2015-06 certified by TUV Rheinland. Price: 1,518 EUR excluding VAT.
A pendulum movement that spares the joints
The station reproduces the gait of nordic walking: legs and arms swing in opposition, in a continuous arc, with no impact phase at all. That is the whole point. On a public fitness area the users who most need cardiovascular work are often the ones for whom running, stepping or jumping is uncomfortable, and a pendulum movement lets them raise their heart rate without loading the knees, hips or spine.
The exercise stimulates the lower body, strengthens the leg and hip muscles and improves cardio respiratory capacity, with a difficulty rating of easy and a maximum user weight of 150 kg.
Where it belongs in a circuit
The nordic walker is a warm up station. Placed at the entrance of a health trail or at the start of a fitness area it prepares the joints and raises the pulse before the strength stations, and at the end of a session it works equally well as a cool down. In practice it is one of the most continuously occupied units on a municipal area, because it is the one nobody is intimidated by.
Construction and contact points
- High quality steel structure, shot blasted and galvanised, with a double layer of polyester paint
- Handles and contact points in UV resistant HDPE panels
- Colours: yellow (RAL 1018/7004), graphite (RAL 7016/9006), orange (RAL 2000/9006), lime (RAL 6018/9006), other shades on request
- Free standing station of the OutdoorStart range, no shared pylon required
HDPE at the contact points matters outdoors: it does not heat up in the sun the way bare metal does, it does not splinter, and its colour is through the material rather than on the surface, so a scratch does not show. The structure is galvanised and painted carbon steel, not stainless steel.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with the pylon mounted range?
OutdoorStart stations are free standing units with their own foundation, while the OutdoorFit range mounts several apparatus on shared posts. Free standing is simpler when stations are scattered along a path or a park; shared posts are more economical when a dozen units sit in one compact area.
Does it need supervision?
No. The movement is self limiting, there is no resistance to set and the difficulty is rated easy, which is why it is one of the standard specifications for unsupervised municipal areas and health trails.
What foundation is required?
A concrete foundation sized for the station and its dynamic loading. We supply the anchoring drawings with the order, and we can quote the civil works and the surfacing alongside the equipment.
Send us the site, the length of the path or the surface available and the profile of the users you expect, and we will return a written quotation covering the stations, the foundations, the surfacing and installation in France.
