Description
The TRAINER R51 leg developer works each knee extensor individually, with resistance that follows the body weight of the user: 83 x 69 x 120 cm, about 45 kg, safety zone 383 x 369 cm. EN 16630:2015-06, certified by TUV Rheinland. Price: 1,477.20 EUR excluding VAT.
One leg at a time
The station loads the knee extensors of each leg individually rather than both together. That single design decision changes what the exercise reveals. Almost everyone has a stronger side, and on a bilateral machine the stronger leg quietly compensates for the weaker one, so the asymmetry survives the training. Working each leg separately makes the difference obvious to the user within a few repetitions and lets it be corrected.
For a municipal area used by people returning to activity after injury, surgery or simple inactivity, that is more useful than raw load: the weaker leg is precisely the one that needs the work.
Resistance proportional to body weight
The resistance adapts to the body weight of the user, which optimises both the muscular and the joint work. Nothing has to be selected, so nothing can be left on the wrong setting for the next person, and the relative effort stays comparable whether the user weighs 50 kg or 110 kg. Maximum user weight is 150 kg and the difficulty is rated easy.

Frequently asked questions
Why train one leg at a time outdoors?
Because nobody is there to notice an imbalance. A bilateral station lets the strong leg carry the movement; an independent one does not. It is the simplest way to make an unsupervised station give honest feedback.
Can both legs be worked at once?
The action is independent, so the user can alternate or work both together depending on how they use it. The mechanism does not force a choice.
How does it compare with the D51 leg developer?
Both share the same footprint, the same safety zone and body weight proportional resistance. The R51 emphasises independent work on each leg; the D51 is the version to specify where a simple bilateral extension is enough. Ask us to compare them for your layout.
Send us the surface available and the profile of your users and we will return a layout plan and a written quotation covering equipment, foundations, surfacing and installation in France. See the outdoor fitness trail range and the full outdoor gym equipment catalogue.
